Planning a Dream Seychelles Honeymoon or Holiday

Karen Pugh on 16 Jan 2026

Seychelles is one of those destinations that had been on my bucket list for as long as I’ve worked in travel, and when I finally visited, it completely lived up to my dreams - one of the most beautiful destinations I've had the privilege of visiting. If you’re thinking about a Seychelles honeymoon or holiday then let's go!

Why Choose The Seychelles?

The Seychelles is not your typical “fly and flop” beach destination. For me it’s more about exploring:

  • island hopping and discovering some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.
  • dramatic granite boulders and white sand beaches
  • crystal-clear water perfect for swimming and snorkelling
  • lush green landscapes and tropical forests
  • quiet, unspoilt islands
  • a more natural kind of luxury

My Seychelles Itinerary

We started on Mahé, the main island and home to the tiny capital, Victoria. Our days were filled with sun, snorkelling and beach-hopping, with Beau Vallon being a particular favourite. It’s one of the livelier beaches, with great swimming and a few lovely restaurants nearby.

Then there was Petite Anse at the Four Seasons Seychelles. The short walk down to the beach, with the waves crashing against the shore, is one of those moments that just stops you in your tracks. No filter needed.

From there, we took the ferry to Praslin and hired a car to explore this tiny island at our own pace. An early morning at Anse Lazio was surreal, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and we had it almost entirely to ourselves.

The Vallée de Mai felt completely different again, a lush, almost mystical rainforest where legend has it the Garden of Eden once existed.

One of the best days of life was chartering our own small boat with crew to explore nearby islands like Curieuse and St. Pierre. We saw giant tortoises, snorkelled in the clearest water and even had a deserted beach to ourselves. One of those pinch-me travel days!

La Digue was probably my favourite island - with everyone getting around by bicycle, it was just heavenly. We cycled through L’Union Estate to reach Anse Source D’Argent, one of the most photographed beaches in the world.

It does get busy, so I always recommend staying on La Digue if you can to beat the daytrippers.

Seychelles really is a special one. It’s a mood, a vibe, a tropical state of mind…!

Is The Seychelles Good For Honeymoons?

For me, the Seychelles is perfect for couples who want a beach honeymoon with a bit more variety. It’s ideal if you:

  • don’t want to sit in one resort for a full week
  • like the idea of exploring different islands
  • want beautiful paradise beaches
  • don't care too much about all inclusive (it's not all inclusive kinda place!)

When To Go To The Seychelles

Seychelles is best from April to October, when the weather is drier and sea conditions are generally calmer, making it ideal for swimming, snorkelling and getting out to explore the islands.

Where To Combine With Seychelles

Seychelles works beautifully as a standalone trip, but many of my clients choose to combine it with another destination for a true bucket list adventure.

City stopovers

A short stop somewhere like Dubai or Doha works really well to break up the journey. You get a couple of nights of great hotels, restaurants, shopping and a bit of buzz before or after the beach.

Safari and Seychelles

Combining the Seychelles with a safari honeymoon is one of my favourite combinations.

- East Africa (Kenya or Tanzania) gives you that classic safari experience, wide open plains, big game and that “Out of Africa” feel

- South Africa You can combine a safari with Cape Town, the Winelands and even the Garden Route, so you’re getting a mix of city, scenery, food and wildlife all in one trip before finishing in spectacular style in Seychelles.

Planning Your Seychelles Trip

Seychelles trips usually involve a bit more movement than other beach destinations. Things like:

  • deciding how many islands to include
  • choosing the right combination (Mahé, Praslin, La Digue or beyond)
  • ferry and flight connections
  • picking the right hotels on each island

All make a big difference to how easy your trip will be. And that's where I come in! I'll create a dream Seychelles honeymoon or holiday itinerary where everything is taken care of from start to finish.

Feedback From a Recent Seychelles Honeymoon

"Karen helped us plan our honeymoon to the Seychelles & looked after everything. I sent her a message enquiring about honeymoon planning, she gave us a call that evening to chat about ideas & less than 24 hours later we had draft itineraries for 4 different countries to give us ideas. She was so knowledgeable & helpful throughout the planning process and made it so easy. Everything was sorted for us - flights, bags, accommodation, transfers, the whole lot - it was the most stress free travel experience we've ever had. I would highly recommend Karen if you're planning your honeymoon or a big trip, we couldn't have been happier with our experience."
