A Two-Week Family Adventure Through Alberta and British Columbia

You’ll make your way from Alberta’s wide-open skies into the heart of the Canadian Rockies, to enjoy hiking, lakes and more. From there the journey continues westward into the sunny Okanagan Valley, and eventually to the Pacific coast where Vancouver will be your final stop.

Day 1–2: Calgary

Kick things off in Calgary with parks, zoo adventures, and sports fun. Time it right to take in Canada Day celebrations on 1st July or the Calgary Stampede.

·         Explore Prince’s Island Park

·         Calgary Zoo or TELUS Spark Science Centre

·         Go back in time at Heritage Park

·         WinSport Canada Olympic Park – zipline, Skyline Luge, downhill mountain bike trails

 

Day 3: Drumheller

See dinosaurs and wander around the hoodoos in the Badlands.

·         Visit the Royal Tyrrell Museum – home to the world’s largest displays of dinosaurs

·         Hike the Hoodoos trail for surreal landscapes

Head towards Canmore, staying overnight.

Day 4: Canmore

Mountains, lakes, hiking, wildlife spotting, and more.

·         Family-friendly hikes: Barrier Lake Trail, Grassi Lake or Troll Falls

·         Black Shale Suspension bridge

Day 5-6: Yoho National Park / Kootenay Rockies

Lakes, waterfalls, and forest walks that offer some of the Rockies’ most stunning scenery.

·         Easy hikes to Emerald Lake and Natural Bridge

·         Takakkaw Falls

·         Canoeing and wildlife spotting

 

Day 7–8: Revelstoke & Glacier National Park

Experience alpine meadows, giant cedar forests, easy hikes.

·         Meadows in the Sky parkway

·         Giant Cedar’s Boardwalk

·         First Footsteps Trail

 

Day 9-10: Kelowna

Enjoy lake activities, walks, fruit picking, wine tasting, and more.

·         Okanagan Adventure Park

·         Family-friendly winery

·         Boyce-Gyro Beach Park or Rotary Beach for paddle boarding, pedal boat, or kayaking

·         Myra Canyon Trestles – Kettle Valley Railway

·         U-pick farms fruit picking

 

Day 11-13: Kitsilano, Vancouver

Beachside strolls and a relaxed neighbourhood vibe, with easy access to downtown.

·         Seaside Greenway

·         Kits Pool – saltwater outdoor pool with views across English Bay

·         Parks and museums

·         Cafés and shopping

 

Day 14: Fly home from Vancouver
