Your own place in the Périgord Vert

This is the kind of family holiday where the villa becomes a big part of the trip. Villa Champetre is a renovated farmhouse surrounded by fields and woodland, with four double bedrooms upstairs and plenty of room downstairs for everyone to spread out.

Brantôme and the French countryside

When you do head out, Brantôme is well worth making time for. The town sits on the River Dronne and is known as the Venice of Périgord, with an abbey, riverside streets, cafés and a Friday market where you can pick up local produce before heading back to the villa.

Having your own car also means you can make each day different. Head into nearby towns for lunch, stop at a bakery for something fresh for breakfast or simply drive through the countryside and see what you find. With 10 nights in one place, there is no pressure to fit everything into the first few days.

Pool days and family evenings

Some of the best days here will probably be the ones spent almost entirely at the villa. Start with breakfast outside, let the children spend the afternoon in the pool, then use the outdoor kitchen for dinner as the evening cools down.
