This twelve night cruise connects five of Scandinavia's most distinctive cities in one well built route, sailing from Amsterdam on Celebrity Eclipse with a Veranda cabin, gratuities and private transfers included at both ends. Oslo, Skagen, Stockholm, Tallinn, Helsinki and two full days in Copenhagen. Late May means long evenings, mild temperatures and the best of the region in full swing.

12 Nights Best of Scandinavia on Celebrity Eclipse

Celebrity Eclipse

Celebrity Eclipse is a premium ocean ship with a lot to offer across twelve nights at sea. The Lawn Club on the top deck is exactly what it sounds like, real grass at sea, with croquet, games and open air space that comes into its own on the longer sailing days. The Grand Epernay restaurant anchors evenings on board, with a menu that changes daily and a wine list to match.

The Martini Bar is one of the most popular spots on the Celebrity fleet, a sleek bar with bartenders who make a proper show of the pour. Evenings bring full production theatre shows, live music and a casino if the mood takes you. Your Veranda cabin gives you a private balcony and a front row seat as the ship moves through Scandinavian waters.

Oslo

Oslo sits at the end of a long fjord with forested hills behind the city. The Viking Ship Museum is one of the best things in Scandinavia, three original vessels pulled from burial mounds and extraordinarily well preserved. Aker Brygge is where you go afterwards, a waterfront stretch of bars and restaurants right on the fjord.

Skagen

Skagen sits at the very tip of Denmark where the North Sea and the Baltic meet at a strip of sand called Grenen. You can walk out and stand between two seas. The town is small and painterly, with a long history of artists drawn by the quality of the light, and a sand buried church that is hard to forget once you have seen it.

Stockholm

Stockholm is built across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic, and the result is one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe. Gamla Stan, the old town, is a medieval grid of narrow streets and coloured buildings largely intact for centuries. The Vasa Museum houses a 17th century warship raised from the seabed almost perfectly preserved. It is remarkable.

Talinn

Tallinn's medieval old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it feels like one. Cobbled streets, a hilltop fortress and Gothic architecture make it one of the best ports on this route. The views from Toompea Hill over the rooftops alone are worth the visit.

Helsinki

Helsinki is quieter and less visited than the other stops on this route, and all the better for it. Senate Square is one of the grandest open spaces in northern Europe. The Temppeliaukio Church is carved directly into a granite rock face and is unlike anything else you will walk into on this trip. Suomenlinna, a sea fortress on a cluster of islands just offshore, is a short ferry ride from the harbour.

Copenhagen

Two days in Copenhagen gives you time to do the city properly. Start at Nyhavn, the old canal lined with coloured townhouses and waterfront restaurants, then work your way into the city from there. Tivoli Gardens, one of the oldest amusement parks in the world, sits right in the centre, and Christiansborg Palace and the National Museum are both within easy walking distance. The second day is yours to explore at your own pace.
