Lucerne, Switzerland

We flew with Swiss Airlines, it was a very pleasant flight and we were landing at Zurich before we knew it. The airport is large and modern and we were able to take a direct train to Lucerne. We passed through lovely scenery and after just over an hour arrived in lovely Lucerne.

Its dramatic location surrounded by snowy peaks and a shimmering lake is a year round destination. We stayed in the Hotel Continental Park which proved to be a great base and we were able to walk all around town from here.

Lucerne has lots of lovely old building and quaint street and lovely bars and restaurants are dotted all over the lake, a fantastic setting for any meal! We visited the Christmas markets, took the cable car to the Mount Pilatus where the spectacular views didn’t disappoint and also took a day trip to Zurich.
