Why book your Cruise with a Cruise Specialist ?
Cruising is one of the most exciting ways to see the world, but it is also one of the easiest holidays to get wrong if you are not guided properly. That is where a dedicated Cruise Specialist makes all the difference. With 10 years of experience working onboard Royal Caribbean ships in managerial roles, I bring genuine insider knowledge of how life at sea really works and what truly matters to guests. In this blog, I share how I use that experience, my passion for cruising and my commitment to personal service to match you with the right cruise line, ship, cabin and itinerary for you, so your next voyage feels effortless, enjoyable and exactly what you hoped for.
Why book your cruise with a Cruise Specialist?
Cruising is one of the most exciting ways to travel, but it is also one of the easiest holidays to get wrong if you are not guided properly. From choosing the right cruise line, to picking the ship that fits your style, to selecting an itinerary that truly matches how you like to travel, a cruise is never one size fits all.
That is exactly where a Cruise Specialist makes all the difference.

My background: from ship life to Cruise Specialist
Cruising is not just part of my job, it is my passion and my background.
I spent 10 years working onboard Royal Caribbean ships in managerial roles, including , Guest Services Manager. I worked directly with guests every day and their satisfaction was always my top priority.

That experience gave me:
- A genuine behind the scenes understanding of how cruise holidays work
- Firsthand insight into what truly matters to guests
- A clear view of what can make or break a holiday
It also taught me how to match the right people with the right cruise, so that what you imagine and what you experience are perfectly aligned.
Now, as your personal Travel Counsellor and Cruise Specialist, I use that insider knowledge to guide you with honest advice, tailored recommendations and all the little details that turn a great cruise into an unforgettable one.
The biggest mistake people make when booking a cruise
The biggest mistake is choosing a cruise based purely on price, or choosing the wrong cruise line for the wrong traveller.
For example:
- A ship that is perfect for a family may be completely wrong for a honeymoon couple
- A lively, activity packed ship may not suit someone looking for peace, space and a more refined experience
- An itinerary that looks amazing on paper may feel rushed, too sea heavy, or simply not aligned with what you want from your time away
My job is to make sure that does not happen.
I look beyond the brochure headlines and price tags to match you with the cruise line, ship, cabin and itinerary that genuinely suits you.

How I match you with the right cruise
When you book with me, I do not just send you a quote. I start with a conversation. I take the time to understand:
- What type of holiday you want
- Who you are travelling with
- What matters most to you onboard
- How much you want to do, or how much you want to relax
- Your budget, and what you want included in that budget
From there, I recommend the cruise line, ship, cabin and itinerary that fit your needs, your style and your expectations, not someone else’s.

What you can expect before you ever step onboard
One of the biggest reasons my clients love booking with me is that I explain everything clearly before you travel, so you never feel unprepared.
I will talk you through what to expect in terms of:
- Dining and restaurant options
- Cabin types and the best locations onboard
- Entertainment and activities
- Kids clubs and family facilities
- Dress codes and theme nights
- Ports of call and excursion options
- Embarkation day tips
- Sea day ideas and planning
Cruising is a wonderful way to holiday, but it is so much better when you know exactly what you are walking into and you feel confident from day one.

What is included, and what is not
This is the part that matters most to many of my clients.
Cruise holidays can look like incredible value, but guests are often caught out by extras they did not expect. I make sure you know clearly what is included in your cruise fare and what is not, so there are no surprises once you are onboard.
Depending on the cruise line, we will talk through:
- Drinks packages and exactly what they cover
- Gratuities and service charges
- WiFi options
- Speciality dining
- Shore excursions
- Transfers and port taxes
- Travel insurance requirements
- Flights and baggage
- Pre cruise and post cruise hotels
I will also guide you on what is truly worth paying extra for, and what you can happily skip based on your priorities and budget.

Ocean and river cruises, in one place
I work with a wide range of cruise lines across both ocean and river cruising:
- Big, family friendly ships full of activities
- Premium and luxury cruise lines
- Adults only sailings
- Boutique and small ship experiences
- Beautiful river journeys across Europe and beyond
I do not just sell cruises, I experience them regularly too. That means I can speak from real, first hand knowledge, not just brochures or websites.
