Thailand Honeymoon: Bangkok, Chiang Mai & Phang Nga Bay

14 nights from €5,550 per person

For couples who want Thailand to be more than a beach honeymoon, this journey gives you three very different sides of the country. Start with rooftop dinners and markets in Bangkok, spend three nights discovering Chiang Mai through its food and northern culture, then finish with a full week beside Phang Nga Bay in a sea-view suite.

Highlights

  • Start with four nights in Bangkok, where temples, markets, rooftop bars and some of Thailand’s best dining fill the first few days.

  • See two of the country’s most unusual markets on a private day trip, including stalls built along a working railway and vendors selling from boats on the canals.

  • Spend three nights in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand’s cultural capital, with temples, night markets and mountain scenery close by.

  • Discover Chiang Mai after dark by Vespa, stopping for local dishes and seeing neighbourhoods beyond the main tourist streets.

  • Finish with seven nights on Koh Yao Yai in Phang Nga Bay, surrounded by tropical coastline and the limestone islands southern Thailand is famous for.

  • Stay in a Deluxe Sea View Suite on Half Board, with beach days, spa time, kayaking, snorkelling and boat trips all within reach.

Bangkok

Bangkok makes a brilliant opening to a honeymoon because there is always somewhere worth going next. Spend the morning among ornate temples and busy riverfront neighbourhoods, stop for Thai food somewhere completely unassuming at lunchtime, then change the mood with cocktails high above the city after dark.

Your stay puts you in a five-star setting with a rooftop restaurant overlooking the skyline, a spa specialising in Thai treatments and a pool for afternoons when you want a few hours away from the city streets. One of your days takes you beyond central Bangkok too, where you will see Maeklong Railway Market fold itself away as the train passes through before travelling by long-tail boat through the canals of Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.

Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai shows you a softer, more traditional side of Thailand, with the old city, Buddhist temples and the Ping River surrounded by the mountains of the north. Spend the day exploring temple courtyards or browsing the city’s markets, then save your appetite for the evening.

Your included Vespa experience takes you through local neighbourhoods after dark, stopping for northern Thai food along the way. It is a much more memorable way to experience the city together than simply ticking off the main sights, with the night markets, street kitchens and quieter back streets becoming part of the evening.

Koh Yao Yai and Phang Nga Bay

The final week moves to Koh Yao Yai, an island in Phang Nga Bay between Phuket and Krabi. The setting is what makes this part special, with warm sea, tropical hills and the bay’s famous limestone islands rising from the water in the distance.

Your Deluxe Sea View Suite gives you the view to wake up to each morning, while Half Board means breakfast and dinner are already taken care of. Spend the day by the beach or infinity pool, book a spa treatment together, kayak through mangroves or head out snorkelling around the bay. You can also take a boat towards the surrounding islands or join a Thai cooking class before coming back for dinner overlooking the water.
