Thailand: Bangkok, the North and Phuket

14 nights from €2,850 per person

See three very different sides of Thailand in one journey, starting with four nights beside the river in Bangkok, continuing north to Chiang Mai’s mountains and temples, then finishing with a full week by the sea in Phuket. Guided days take you beyond the cities, while the final seven nights are completely your own.

Highlights

  • Spend four nights in Bangkok with the Chao Phraya River, temples, markets and neighbourhood food all within reach.
  • Visit Amphawa Floating Market and Maeklong Railway Market, where stalls are pulled back each time a train passes directly through the market.
  • Fly north to Chiang Mai for three nights surrounded by the temples, food and Lanna culture of northern Thailand.
  • Spend a full day in Doi Inthanon National Park, home to Thailand’s highest mountain, waterfalls and cooler highland scenery.
  • Finish with seven nights beside Kata Noi Beach in Phuket, giving you a full week for swimming, boat days or simply staying by the Andaman Sea.

Bangkok and its Markets

Begin beside the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, where historic temples and modern neighbourhoods sit along the same waterways. Use your free days for sights such as the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Chinatown, then head beyond the city on your included market tour. At Maeklong, traders move their awnings and produce from the railway tracks as trains pass through, before the day continues to Amphawa, where food stalls and boats gather around the canals.

Chiang Mai and Northern Thailand

A short flight takes you north to Chiang Mai, where the surroundings change from Bangkok’s riverfront to forested hills and a walled old city filled with temples. Three nights give you time to walk through the historic centre, visit night markets and try northern dishes such as khao soi before your full-day journey into Doi Inthanon National Park. Here, mountain roads climb towards Thailand’s highest point, with waterfalls, forest trails and highland viewpoints along the way.

Phuket and the Andaman Sea

The final flight takes you south to Phuket for seven nights beside Kata Noi Beach. After a week of cities, markets and guided touring, this is where the holiday opens up. Spend your days swimming in the Andaman Sea, take a boat trip towards nearby islands, explore Phuket Old Town or simply enjoy having nowhere else to be before flying home.
