Rome, Florence and Pisa by Rail

7 nights from €2,220 per person

Three of Italy’s best-known cities in one easy week, connected by first-class rail. This couples trip moves from Rome’s ancient streets and neighbourhoods food to Renaissance Florence, before one final night beneath Pisa’s famous leaning tower.

Highlights

  • Taste local dishes on a small-group Rome street food tour, with stops chosen around seasonal ingredients.
  • Walk between Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps with a local guide.
  • Travel from Rome to Florence by first-class rail in under 90 minutes.
  • See Michelangelo’s David and the exterior of Florence’s cathedral on an included city walking tour.
  • Visit the Galileo Museum, where scientific instruments trace Florence’s role in astronomy and discovery.
  • Finish in Pisa with a guided visit to the Leaning Tower and the monuments of Piazza dei Miracoli.

Rome

Rome gives you three days to get under the skin of the historic centre rather than just rush between landmarks. Walk from Piazza Navona to the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain, stop for an espresso or gelato along the way, and use the included street food tour to discover the local dishes and neighbourhood spots you would be unlikely to find on your own.

Florence

First-class rail takes you straight into Florence, where the Renaissance feels present on almost every street. See Michelangelo’s David, stand beneath the Duomo and spend time around Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio. The Galileo Museum adds something completely different, with original scientific instruments and early telescopes showing another side of the city’s history.

Pisa

Pisa is more than a quick photo stop. Your guided visit brings you through Piazza dei Miracoli, where the Leaning Tower sits beside the cathedral and baptistery, and staying overnight means you can see the square again once many of the day visitors have gone.

The rail journey keeps the trip moving without wasting time on long transfers. Rome, Florence and Pisa each bring a different side of Italy, from ancient streets and neighbourhood food to Renaissance art and one of the country’s most famous landmarks, all within one week.
