- Drift through Paris by riverboat, with the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and the Musée d’Orsay unfolding along the banks
Paris
Your cruise begins and ends in the French capital, with a private transfer from Charles de Gaulle on arrival. The first evening is yours to settle in, soak up the atmosphere on board and watch Paris slip by as the ship sets off along the Seine.
Les Andelys
High above the river, the ruins of Château Gaillard look out over one of the most beautiful stretches of the Seine. Built by Richard the Lionheart, it is a short hike up from the banks or a gentle cycle through the town below, with sweeping views as your reward.
Le Havre and Honfleur
Two days around Le Havre reveal both sides of Normandy. Honfleur’s timber‑framed harbour, which drew the early Impressionists here, is every bit as charming as the paintings suggest. The following day turns to the D‑Day beaches, the orchards of the Pays d’Auge and the quiet military cemeteries along the coast, for a moving and memorable contrast.
Rouen
Rouen is one of the great medieval cities of northern France. The old quarter is dense with half‑timbered buildings and the square where Joan of Arc was burned in 1431. Along the way, Normandy’s cheeses, cider and Calvados are all worth seeking out to complete the experience.
Vernon and Giverny
The stop at Vernon is really about Giverny, where Claude Monet lived and painted for more than forty years. His house and the water garden that inspired the Nymphéas series are open to visit, offering a rare chance to step directly into the landscapes that shaped his most famous works.
