Nashville
Start with four nights in downtown Nashville, the city most closely linked with country music. This is where to spend evenings around live music venues, discover the story behind the genre and make the most of a central stay before the driving section begins. With several nights here, there is time to see more than the busiest streets and settle into the city before heading south.
Nashville to Memphis
Collect your car and follow the road into Tennessee towards Memphis, shifting from country music into the city associated with Elvis Presley and rock ’n’ roll. Three nights here give you time to explore before the included Graceland VIP Entourage Tour, which takes you into Elvis Presley’s former home and also includes his custom aircraft.
Through Mississippi
Rather than driving straight from Memphis to New Orleans, spend a night in Mississippi at Monmouth Historic Inn & Gardens. It breaks up the route naturally and gives you another part of the American South before you cross into Louisiana the following day.
New Orleans
Return the car in New Orleans and stay for four nights close to the French Quarter. The city brings the journey to a fitting finish, with jazz, distinctive architecture and Creole and Cajun influences all playing a part in its identity. One evening is spent on an included jazz cruise along the Mississippi River, while a separate tour takes you outside the city to Oak Alley Plantation.
