Hanoi
Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam and one of the oldest cities in Southeast Asia. The old quarter is a dense grid of narrow streets, each one historically associated with a particular trade, and the food culture here is among the best in the country.
Hoi An
Hoi An is a small trading port on the central Vietnamese coast, largely unchanged since the 15th century and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The ancient town is compact and walkable, with Chinese merchant houses, a Japanese covered bridge and tailors that have been operating for generations.
Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City, still widely known as Saigon, is Vietnam's largest city and its commercial engine. It moves fast, it is loud, and the energy of the place is best understood on the ground. The city's layered history runs from the French colonial period through to the present day and shows in the architecture, the museums and the street life throughout.
Siem Reap
Siem Reap sits at the edge of one of the most significant archaeological sites in the world. The wider Angkor complex covers over 400 square kilometres of jungle, moats and carved stone built across several centuries of Khmer rule, with the Tonle Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, nearby.
