Canada Family Adventure: Toronto, Lakes & Québec Road Trip
16 nights from €2,560 per person
Highlights
- Begin with three nights in Toronto and an included full-day visit to Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake.
- See the Horseshoe Falls up close, where most of the Niagara River drops over a curved 670-metre-wide cliff.
- Stay beside the lakes and forests of Muskoka, one of Ontario’s best-known outdoor regions.
- Explore Ottawa, with Parliament Hill and several of Canada’s national museums close to the city centre.
- Spend two nights at Mont-Tremblant, a village that sits at the foot of the Laurentian Mountains.
- Walk through Québec City’s fortified old town, with stone streets and views across the St Lawrence River.
Toronto and Niagara Falls
Toronto gives everyone a different way to spend the first few days. Look across the city from the CN Tower, see sharks and rays swimming overhead at Ripley’s Aquarium or explore dinosaur galleries at the Royal Ontario Museum. Your included day trip then takes you to Niagara Falls and the historic streets of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Muskoka and Huntsville
The road then leaves the city for Muskoka, an area of forest, rocky shoreline and thousands of lakes north of Toronto. Two separate stays give the family time to see more of the region, with Huntsville close to Arrowhead Provincial Park and around 42 kilometres from Algonquin Provincial Park.
Ottawa and Mont-Tremblant
Ottawa brings museums and Canadian history into the journey. Families can visit Parliament Hill, explore the Canadian Museum of Nature or see aircraft and space exhibits at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. From there, continue into Québec and Mont-Tremblant, where shops and restaurants line a pedestrian village beneath the mountain.
Québec City and Montréal
Québec City feels very different from the earlier stops, with fortified walls, steep streets and French-speaking neighbourhoods overlooking the St Lawrence River. Continue to Montréal, where Mount Royal rises above the centre and neighbourhoods such as Old Montréal can be explored on foot.
Gananoque and the Thousand Islands
The final drive returns west through Gananoque, a waterfront town beside the Thousand Islands region of the St Lawrence River. One last night breaks up the journey back to Toronto and gives the family time to walk beside the marina and explore the small town centre before flying home.
