Legend of the Seas

Legend of the Seas

Mandy Walsh on 29 Jun 2026

I will be honest, when I was invited onboard Legend of the Seas, the largest and newest cruise ship in the world, for an exclusive sailing, I didn't have to think twice. This is a ship that's had the world's press and travel media talking for months, and having now sailed on her myself, I completely understand why. She is Royal Caribbean showcasing exactly what they do best so let me tell you what I thought about the experience and whom I think it would suit - most importantly!

So just to set the scene Legend of the Seas is as of 2026 the largest cruise ship in the world. She is  Royal Caribbean's third Icon class ship, following Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas.

She has eight neighbourhoods, over 40 dining venues and bars, seven pools, and the largest waterpark at sea. The ship even has it's own resident dog Skipper would you believe? Although sadly we didn't get to meet him as he was only newly onboard himself and finding his feet.

Firstly let's go to sleep - well not literally but let's discuss the cabin types. From Interior Cabins, Surfside and Central Park Views with Balconies, to your standard Oceanviews with and without Balconies to Sunset Suites with stunning views and extra perks to the Ultimate Family Townhouse - split over three levels with it's own inhouse slide  and of course a Royal Suite if price is irrelevant. The most popular for families will definitely be the Family Infinite Ocean view Balcony which are a kids dream with a seperate bunkbed space with TV's and space to chill.

  • Central Park: An open-air neighbourhood with over 30,000 real plants, offering specialty dining and live music in a relaxed setting.
  • Thrill Island: An action-packed area home to Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea, plus surf simulators and Crown’s Edge.
  • Chill Island: A multi-deck pool zone featuring the large Royal Bay pool, the Swim & Tonic swim-up bar, and the adults-only Cloud 17.
  • Surfside: A dedicated family-focused area with a carousel, play areas, and casual dining for young children.

With seven live music venues, Shockwaves at the Aquadome (this was literally a jaw dropping show), Fusion at Absolute Zero (the largest ice arena at sea) to Charlie & The Chocolate Factory at the The Royal Theater  where Willy Wonka himself takes you back to your childhood memories Broadway style and even  America's Got Talent - each and every show being better than the last that you will go back for more.
