Thailand Through the Eyes of a 5 Year Old
How We Travelled: We flew in a plane (we slept on the plane, had lots of snacks and watched lots of movies) We went on a train that came right through a market. (Mae Klong Railway Market) We went on a boat that was a market too (Floating Market) We had our spin in a tuk-tuk through Bangkok - this was "totally awesome!" We went in a truck to Elephant Hills. We sailed in a longtail boat (this made everyone sleepy) and a speedboat (we were allowed to jump into the ocean off the speed boat)
What Animals We Saw: We did a water safari on the Khao Sok river and saw snakes, birds, monkeys and butterflies. We met Elephants, helped make their lunch and feed them. On our jungle trek - we saw snakes, frogs and lots of insects. We saw lots of fish on our snorkelling trip.
What We Ate and Drank: Mango Ice Cream Coconut Ice Cream Coconut Juice Barbequed Insects (not really - just for the photo!) Pizza for dinner every evening.
What Fun Things We Did We jumped in the ocean, we swam in a lake, in the sea and in swimming pools, we went in a lazy river at the pool. We saw paper made from Elephant Dung, We ate our easter eggs on the beach. We took part in magic show. We make friends along the way. We learned how to say thank you (Khop Khun Krup) and hello (Sawasdee krap)
So after two wonderful weeks in Thailand, we left feeling like it was whole new world we got to explore together. From sleepy boat rides to tuk-tuk thrills, jungle creatures to endless scoops of mango ice cream, every day brought something new to discover. Seeing Thailand as he saw it—full of wonder, laughter, and curiosity—made it all the more special. And that’s a journey I’ll always be grateful for.
