Morocco: Desserts and Beaches

Right now, I am counting down to my next holiday. It will be a very family friendly all-inclusive break in Marrakech (I’ll fill you in on my next blog) and it has me reminiscing on old adventures in the same destination.

Back in 2018 myself and one of my close friends did a small group adventure tour of Morocco. We had an amazing time! The contrast and experience was so different to our day to day lives we couldn’t believe it, especially considering it was just one direct flight away.

We arrived in to Marrakesh and got a transfer to our hotel before spending the evening with our group at a rooftop bar overlooking the city.

On the first day the tour covered Todra Gorge and on the way we saw terracotta villages and a spectacular scenery.

The following day we headed for the dessert – by camel of course. We spent the night in a Bedouin Camp and had some traditional entertainment under the stars. This was a major highlight for me.

From there we went for Aït Ben Haddou travelling along the route of 1000 Kasbahs and onwards again to the high Atlas Mountains, this was the most exciting drive I have ever experienced as we had snow one minute and sand the next.

After, we went back to Marrakesh for a few days of exploring the city. We spent time in the Medina, Our Riad, and finally hit the Hammam before heading home super relaxed.

As two friends travelling, we found travelling in a group was perfect for us. We had company for the trip and were able to see and do things we wouldn’t have been able to, had we stayed in one place.
