Rome to Sorrento by Rail

Rome

Begin your trip in central Rome, where the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona are all within walking distance. Spend your first days visiting these landmarks, stopping for coffee in side streets and exploring the narrow lanes around the Pantheon. The city is best experienced on foot, with something to see on every corner.

From Rome to the Coast

On day four, take the first class train from Roma Termini to Naples. A private driver meets you on arrival and brings you to Sant'Agnello. The journey takes you from the energy of the capital to the terraced hills and coastal towns of the peninsula.

Sant’Agnello

Stay seven nights in Sant'Agnello, a calmer alternative to central Sorrento. You can walk the coastal path into Sorrento for sea views, restaurants and evening strolls. The village itself has small cafés, local shops and shaded streets that are easy to explore without planning a full day out.

Sorrento and the Peninsula

Sorrento offers narrow shopping lanes, small harbours and limoncello stands, with highlights such as Marina Grande, a colourful fishing cove, and Villa Comunale's clifftop terrace overlooking the Bay of Naples.

From Sorrento's harbour you can take boats to Capri, Amalfi or Positano, each offering different ways to spend a day, whether that is visiting cliffside gardens, exploring a cathedral square or spending time by the water at one of the beach clubs.
