Norwegian Fjords Cruise with MSC Virtuosa

MSC Virtuosa

MSC Virtuosa is designed to feel comfortable and easy to move around, rather than overwhelming. Running through the centre of the ship is the Galleria Virtuosa, an indoor promenade that acts as the main social hub. It’s where you’ll find cafés, bars, shops and live music, all under a large LED ceiling that changes throughout the day and evening. It’s a space people naturally pass through, stop for a coffee in the morning or return to for a drink after dinner.

Entertainment is spread across the ship, with full theatre shows, live music venues and quieter lounges depending on the mood you’re in. Outside, there are several pool areas and whirlpools, along with open deck space that works particularly well when sailing through Norway’s coastal scenery.

Ålesund

Spread across a series of small islands, Ålesund is one of Norway’s most distinctive towns. The harbourfront is lined with Art Nouveau buildings, cafés and boats coming and going, making it easy to spend time wandering by the water or stopping for lunch. If the weather is clear, nearby viewpoints offer wide views back over the town, the surrounding islands and the open sea.

Nordfjordeid

Nordfjordeid is a small town at the end of the fjord, where life centres around the water and the surrounding farmland. It’s an easy place to step ashore for a walk along the waterfront, a coffee in town, or a short trip out into the nearby countryside.

Hellesylt

Hellesylt is reached by sailing deep into the fjord, with steep cliffs and waterfalls coming into view as the ship approaches. Once ashore, it’s a small village, but the setting does the work, with waterfalls running straight through the centre and easy walks to viewpoints nearby.

Måløy

Måløy is a working coastal town, where fishing boats, open sea and everyday life sit side by side. It’s a good place to step ashore, walk along the harbour and get a feel for Norway’s west coast away from the bigger cruise ports.
