India and Nepal's Timeless Wonders

Delhi

Your journey begins in India’s capital, Delhi – a city that effortlessly weaves together centuries of history with contemporary energy. A full-day city tour allows you to delve into the grandeur of Old Delhi with a visit to Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. A thrilling rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk reveals the delights of everyday life in this vibrant part of the city.

In contrast, New Delhi introduces you to Lutyens’ architecture, wide boulevards, and notable landmarks such as India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan (Presidential Palace), and the Qutub Minar. This introduction sets the tone for a trip steeped in culture, contrasts, and unforgettable encounters.

Agra – Taj Mahal

Next, you travel to Agra, home to one of the world’s most celebrated monuments: the Taj Mahal. Watching the first light of day illuminate its white marble façade is a moment that words can scarcely capture. Commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a moving tribute to eternal love.

Your time in Agra also includes a visit to the Agra Fort, a striking example of Mughal architecture where you can trace the footsteps of emperors and admire stunning views of the Taj from afar.

Jaipur – The Royal Heart of Rajasthan

The journey continues to Jaipur, known as the Pink City. Famed for its rose-hued buildings and regal charm, Jaipur offers a feast for the senses and a rich tapestry of history and culture.

Begin with a visit to the majestic Amber Fort, perched high above the city. Inside, discover mirrored halls, ornate courtyards and sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. Back in the city, the Hawa Mahal, - or Palace of Winds – with its intricate façade, and the grand City Palace are both captivating sights.

You’ll also enjoy an authentic Rajasthani dinner and have the chance to explore the city’s vibrant bazaars, where artisans still practise age-old crafts and colourful textiles beckon.

Varanasi

Fly to Varanasi, one of the oldest continually inhabited cities on Earth and a place of profound spiritual significance. Set on the banks of the sacred Ganges River, Varanasi offers an experience unlike any other.

In the evening, witness the Ganga Aarti, a powerful Hindu ceremony of light and devotion, performed daily at the river’s edge. At dawn, a serene boat ride on the Ganges allows you to witness pilgrims performing rituals in the golden light of morning.

You’ll also visit Sarnath, where Buddha first shared his teachings, offering a peaceful interlude steeped in Buddhist history.

Kathmandu – Temples, Stupas and an Unforgettable Flight Over Everest

Your journey continues in the capital of Nepal – Kathmandu – a city that effortlessly blends ancient heritage with vibrant daily life. You'll begin the day with a once-in-a-lifetime scenic flight over Mount Everest, an experience that offers jaw-dropping views of the world’s highest peak and the surrounding Himalayan range.

Later, you’ll dive into the heart of Kathmandu’s rich culture with a full-day guided city tour. Discover Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site steeped in history and home to ancient temples, statues and palace courtyards.

Monkey Temple

You'll climb to Swayambhunath, known as the Monkey Temple, where prayer flags flutter in the breeze and the stupa’s all-seeing eyes gaze across the Kathmandu Valley.

Then it’s on to Boudhanath Stupa, a sacred Buddhist site where pilgrims walk in meditative circles, and Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated on the banks of the Bagmati River. With so much spiritual and architectural wonder packed into one day, Kathmandu is a true highlight of the journey.

Pokhara

A short flight takes you to Pokhara, a picturesque town nestled beside a serene lake and framed by the snow-capped Annapurna range. It’s a complete change of pace – here, nature takes centre stage.

You’ll enjoy a boat ride on Phewa Lake, visit the Tal Barahi Temple located on an island in its centre, and rise early for a breathtaking sunrise view from Sarangkot, where the Himalayan peaks glow pink and gold in the morning light.

Bhaktapur and Patan

Your final days are spent exploring two of Nepal’s most culturally rich towns: Bhaktapur and Patan. Both cities boast beautifully preserved medieval architecture, including temples, courtyards, and intricately carved wooden windows.

In Bhaktapur, walk through the UNESCO-listed Durbar Square and witness traditional potters, weavers and woodcarvers at work. Patan, meanwhile, is renowned for its artistry and Buddhist heritage – it’s a perfect final stop to absorb the essence of Nepal’s craftsmanship and spiritual identity.
