Best of Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur & Pangkor Laut

Kuala Lumpur

Start in Malaysia’s capital with three nights at Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur, well located for getting around the city and exploring on foot or by taxi. A half day guided tour introduces you to key sights, including the Batu Caves, offering a good overview of the city early in the stay. Tickets to the Kuala Lumpur Tower observation deck are also included, giving you a clear view across the skyline.

Outside of planned activities, there is time to explore neighbourhoods, try local food and enjoy evenings at your own pace. The hotel’s rooftop bar hosts a daily cocktail reception, which works well as a relaxed way to finish the day without needing to head far.

Pangkor Laut

After your time in the city, continue on to Pangkor Laut, a private island resort just off Malaysia’s west coast. You will spend seven nights here, staying in a Hill Villa surrounded by forest, with beaches and walking trails spread across the island.

This part of the trip is about spending time outdoors and using the resort at your own pace. Days can be spent swimming, walking the island paths, booking spa treatments or relaxing by the beach. Dining is spread across several restaurants on the island, each offering a different setting for the evening. With a full week here, there is time to settle into island life before returning to Kuala Lumpur for the journey home.
