Club Med Magna Marbella

My Club Med Magna Marbella Experience

Katrina McMullan on 24 Jun 2026

Last month I was lucky enough to spend three days at Club Med Magna Marbella, and I finally got to see what the Club Med concept is all about for myself.

We flew with Aer Lingus into Malaga Airport, and from there it was an easy transfer of around 40 minutes to the resort. Before I travelled, I downloaded the Club Med app so I could get a feel for the daily activity schedule and evening themes. It was my first time in a Club Med property and I was genuinely excited to experience it from a client’s perspective.

First Impressions & Arrival

My first impression was just how modern and fresh the whole resort feels. The reception area is large, bright and airy, with a really welcoming, contemporary feel. Check in was quick and seamless and, before I knew it, we were heading straight down to lunch at the main buffet restaurant (Leonardo).

Club Med is known for its food and, in my experience, Magna Marbella really delivers on both quality and variety. I have honestly never seen such an impressive buffet for both lunch and dinner.

  • Live-cooking stations with fresh pasta, grilled meats and fish
  • Beautifully presented salads and Mediterranean dishes
  • A great choice of vegetarian options
  • An entire dessert area with miniature tartlets, mousses, fresh fruit and more

If you prefer a quieter, more intimate evening, there is also an à la carte restaurant you can book for dinner, which is a lovely way to mix things up during a longer stay.

Rooms & Views

Club Med Magna Marbella only opened in 2022, and you can really see the difference in the rooms. Everything feels new, with modern furnishings, clever storage and a light, clean design.

My room overlooked the mountains behind Marbella. While there are room types with pool and sea views that carry a supplement, I genuinely loved my mountain view. It felt peaceful and a little different to the usual sea-facing room.

The lead-in room type is a Superior Room with sea and pool view, and there are also interconnecting rooms for families, Deluxe rooms and suites for those who want more space or an upgraded experience. The views towards the sea are stunning and, on a clear day, you can even see Gibraltar in the distance.

Pools & Relaxation

The main pool area is a real standout feature. The pool itself has a gentle, sloping entry so you can walk in gradually from the shallow end to the deeper water, which is ideal for families and anyone who prefers an easier entry rather than steps.

Around the pool there are:

  • Plenty of comfortable loungers
  • A bar conveniently located right beside the pool
  • Regular live music on the terrace, which creates a lovely atmosphere in the late afternoon and early evening

For adults looking for peace and quiet, there is also a gorgeous Zen pool. This is an adults-only infinity-style pool set just behind the main resort, where you can truly switch off with a book and take in the views in a much calmer setting.

There is also a dedicated kids’ splash zone, so younger children have their own space to play in the water.

Activities: Non-Stop Choice from Morning to Night

If you like to be active on holiday, this is where Club Med really comes into its own. Almost every hour throughout the day there are two or three activities to choose from, and the app makes it incredibly easy to see what is on and plan your day around the sessions that appeal most.

Archery

Shortly after lunch on our first day, I checked the app and decided to try archery. Our instructor was excellent, taking time to explain how to hold the bow correctly and how to create tension in the string with the arrow. I absolutely loved it and even managed to hit the target a couple of times, which felt very satisfying for a first attempt.

Padel & Tennis

I have been so keen to try padel and this was the perfect opportunity. I joined a beginner class where we went through the basics and rules, then played a few doubles matches with other guests. I absolutely loved it and can completely see why the sport is taking off. There are several padel and tennis courts dotted around the resort, so anyone who enjoys racket sports will be in their element.

Golf

Another activity I tried was a golf lesson that focused on the basics of putting. It is ideal if you are a complete beginner or a bit rusty and want to brush up in a relaxed environment.

Aerial Yoga

One of the most memorable sessions was an aerial yoga class. I could not believe how quickly we were all spinning upside down, hanging from the ceiling in the hammocks. It felt both challenging and fun and is something quite different to the usual resort fitness class.

Circus School

One thing I am disappointed I did not have time for is the circus school. They have a trampoline and trapeze swing where you can learn some basic trapeze skills. It looked incredible, and I would absolutely make a point of trying this on a future visit.

Family-Friendly Focus

Club Med Magna Marbella is very family-orientated and feels like a brilliant option for active families with children of all ages.

They offer:

  • Kids’ clubs from 4 years upwards, right through to teens
  • A paid Baby Club for little ones from 4 months to 4 years
  • A full schedule of sports, games and creative activities throughout the day

What I really liked is that parents can choose to get involved with the activities themselves or take the opportunity to relax by the pool while the kids are fully entertained and supervised. It feels like a lovely balance between family time and grown-up downtime.

All-Inclusive That Really Feels Inclusive

Stays at Club Med Magna Marbella are on an all-inclusive basis, and it truly feels comprehensive:

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner all included
  • A wide range of drinks included
  • Snacks available throughout the day
  • Afternoon tea for those mid-afternoon cravings

Given the quality and variety of the food, plus the sheer volume of included activities, it feels like excellent value for clients who enjoy a more active, social style of all-inclusive holiday.

Evening Themes & Atmosphere

Each evening there is a different theme, which you can see in advance on the app. During our stay the themes were “stripes” one night and “floral” the next.

It is not compulsory to dress according to the theme, but lots of guests do get involved and it creates a fun, relaxed atmosphere around the resort and in the bars. It is a nice touch that helps each evening feel a little bit different.

Often there is live music on the terrace in the evenings too, so you can enjoy a drink and soak up the atmosphere after dinner.

Location & Exploring Marbella

Although Club Med Magna Marbella has so much going on that you never really need to leave, it is also very well located if you want a change of scene.

It is about a 25‑minute walk to Marbella’s charming old town. One afternoon we strolled in for a cocktail by the beach, then hopped in a taxi for the short journey back to the hotel. It is lovely to know that a more traditional Spanish experience is so close, yet you are slightly removed from the busier seafront when you are back at the resort.

The wider setting is beautiful too. With the mountains behind and the sea in front, you feel very much surrounded by nature.

The Club Med Concept

Club Med currently operates in around 40 countries worldwide, with both ski and sun resorts. Magna Marbella is one of the newer additions to the portfolio and I think it showcases the brand very well: contemporary design, high-quality food and a huge emphasis on activities and community.

What struck me most is how easy it is to tailor the stay to your own style:

  • Want to be active from morning to night? There is more than enough on the programme.
  • Prefer to relax by the pool, dip into the odd class, and enjoy great food and drinks? That works just as well.
  • Travelling as a family? The kids’ clubs, splash zone and variety of sports mean children can burn off plenty of energy, while parents relax knowing they are well looked after.

Final Thoughts

With only three days, I feel like I barely scratched the surface of everything that Club Med Magna Marbella has to offer. Between the gorgeous pools, the genuinely impressive food and the non-stop activities, it really does overdeliver.

I came away feeling that this would be a fantastic option for:

  • Active families
  • Couples who enjoy sports and wellness
  • Groups of friends looking for a sociable, easygoing all‑inclusive break

I am already looking forward to going back and, next time, I will make sure I fit in that trapeze session at the circus school.

If Club Med Magna Marbella sounds like your kind of escape, or if you have clients in mind who would love this style of holiday, just get in touch and I would be delighted to talk through options, dates and room types in more detail.
