A Luxurious Escape to Villa Rodi, Corfu
I was lucky to be invited along with some fellow Travel Counsellors, by my suppliers at CV Villas, to stay at the beautiful Villa Rodi in Agios Stefanos, northeast Corfu.
We were greeted at Corfu airport by a CV Villas representative airport,
ensuring we had clear directions to the villa, providing cold water for the
journey, and going above and beyond to get our stay off to a perfect start.
The roads in Corfu are winding and slow, so the drive took
about an hour but it was absolutely worth the wait. We were greeted by our
luxurious home for the week, and after a full thirty-minute house tour, we were
completely captivated. The gardens were dotted with fresh fruit trees; oranges,
lemons, pomegranates, and olives, creating a lush Mediterranean atmosphere.
The outdoor area was a dream: a pool, jacuzzi, hammock, a
dozen loungers, and two alfresco dining spaces, plus a separate relaxation area
and an outdoor kitchen complete with an open oven. Inside, Villa Rodi features
six ensuite bedrooms (some full suites with living areas), several balconies
with sweeping views of the Ionian Sea and Albania, a spacious living area on
the main floor, and a huge lounge with a pool table and other activities on the
lower level.
Villa Rodi is perfect for a large group, whether a gathering of couples or a multi-generational family holiday.

Discovering Agios Stefanos & Surrounds
We were eager to explore the local area and drove just five
minutes to the charming village of Agios Stefano. From the moment we arrived in
the village, we were welcomed with smiles and genuine hospitality. “Big Boss”
Nico from Taverna Galina took us under his wing and treated us like VIPs from
the outset. The entire team went above and beyond to make each visit memorable.
I always love to explore local areas when I travel, and this
region did not disappoint.
A highlight was the coastal trek from Agios Stefanos to
Kassiopi, a 5–6 km walk featuring countless beautiful bays including Korfovounia, Avlaki, and Kogevina
along the way. The route is well-marked with orange and green signs on roads,
paths, and trees, making it easy to follow.
Kassiopi itself was a delightful surprise. Its picturesque port forms a horseshoe of cafés and restaurants, and a little further inland I discovered a charming street filled with boutiques and eateries. Along the coastal path, I stumbled upon stunning beaches such as Pataria and Pipitos, where bright blue water, white pebbles, and serene sea views created postcard-perfect scenes. I’d definitely return to Kassiopi — and highly recommend it.

A Day on the Water
CV Villas also arranged a boat trip for us to admire Corfu’s
coastline from the sea — and it was breathtaking. The hillsides were dotted
with magnificent villas overlooking secluded bays. We stopped at a small cove
for lunch, and learned that there are also boat transfers available to Corfu
Town and even Albania.
Although we decided to stay local on this visit, Albania
makes for a fascinating day trip. Boats regularly depart from Corfu Town to
Saranda, where travellers can visit the ancient archaeological site of Butrint,
a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore lively waterfront cafés along the
Albanian Riviera.
Another highly recommended excursion is a boat trip to the islands of Paxos and Antipaxos. Paxos is known for its laid-back charm, pastel-coloured fishing villages, and crystal-clear waters, while neighbouring Antipaxos boasts some of the most stunning turquoise beaches in the Ionian Sea, perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

Exploring Corfu Town
We spent one day exploring Corfu Town, and one word of
warning — parking! It took us nearly an hour to find a spot. Next time, I’d
park near the airport side, where traffic seemed lighter, or take a boat
transfer instead (especially in peak summer).
Once there, we explored both the Old and New Towns, visiting the Fort and Castle, and wandering streets lined with cafés, boutiques, and shops. It’s a wonderful place to spend a leisurely afternoon soaking in the island’s culture.

An Unforgettable In-Villa Dining Experience
One of the highlights of our stay was the in-home dining
experience organised by CV Villas. Our private chef, Kostas, and his assistant,
Lydia, arrived at 5 p.m. and by 7 p.m. had served an immaculate,
restaurant-quality meal. They handled everything, cooking, serving, and
cleaning, allowing us to relax completely.
Not only was the food incredible, but they also shared
insights about each dish’s preparation and cultural background. We loved it so
much that we invited them back for a surprise second evening — this time,
Kostas cooked a whole snapper in the outdoor oven, explaining each step as he
went. Another unforgettable night!
This service is perfect for CV villa holidays, they can provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout your stay.

Agios Gordios
On our journey back to the airport, we made one last stop at Agios Gordios, on the southwest coast. I was immediately struck by its long, golden sandy beach, a contrast to the pebbled shores of the east. The views are spectacular, surrounded by dramatic limestone cliffs, and the beach is lined with plenty of restaurants — enough to try a new one each evening!
