Around the World Honeymoon Inspiration: Singapore, Australia, Hawaii & Beyond

Andre Bedford on 01 Jul 2025

If you’re looking for a honeymoon that feels exciting, memorable and a little different from the usual beach escape, this type of multi-stop trip is hard to beat.

I recently travelled through Singapore, Sydney, Moreton Island, Hawaii, San Francisco and Dallas  and it completely exceeded expectations.

This kind of honeymoon gives you variety, adventure, iconic scenery and unforgettable experiences all wrapped into one incredible trip.

Singapore – The Perfect Luxury Stopover

Singapore

Singapore is one of my favourite destinations to include at the beginning of a honeymoon itinerary.

It’s modern, stylish, easy to explore and packed with amazing hotels, rooftop bars and fabulous food.

One absolute must-do is Gardens by the Bay and the OCBC Skyway overlooking Marina Bay Sands and the Supertree Grove. The skyline views are incredible, especially in the evening when the city lights begin to glow.

Singapore works perfectly as a 3-night stopover before continuing onwards to Australia, Bali, Thailand or Hawaii.

Sydney – Harbour Views, Coastal Walks & Whale Watching

Sydney

Sydney has such an amazing atmosphere and honestly surprised me in the best way.

One of my top tips is not to head straight for Circular Quay when you arrive. Instead, start at Darling Harbour and take the ferry and travel underneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge before arriving to your first view of the Opera House. Iconic.

Darling Harbour itself is gorgeous at night with endless restaurants, bars and waterfront views  and if you happen to be there on a Saturday night, there are fireworks over the harbour too.

Sydney is also brilliant for experiences.

Whale watching from Sydney Harbour was one of the highlights of the trip. Seeing whales surface out on the open water was something really special and absolutely worth doing in the winter months.

For couples who love scenery and walking, the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk is another must.

Moreton Island – Adventure Honeymoon Goals

Moreton island

If you want your honeymoon to include adventure, Moreton Island is incredible.

Think crystal-clear water, giant sand dunes, snorkelling, dolphin feeding and helicopter rides over the famous Tangalooma wrecks.

One thing I loved about Australia overall was how many experiences felt accessible and great value compared to what many people expect.

The helicopter ride over the wrecks was such a brilliant experience and seeing the island from above really showed just how beautiful the coastline is.

Other highlights included:

  • Sand boarding down giant dunes
  • Feeding wild dolphins at sunset
  • Snorkelling around the wrecks
  • Beachside cocktails after adventure-filled days

It’s such a fun destination for couples wanting something more unique and experience-led.

Hawaii – Amazing scenery

Hawaii

I genuinely think more couples should consider Hawaii for their honeymoon.

I split my stay between Waikiki and the North Shore and both offered completely different experiences.

Waikiki has the famous skyline, shopping, nightlife and beautiful sunsets, while the North Shore feels more relaxed with stunning beaches, incredible scenery and amazing food trucks.

One of the highlights was visiting Kualoa Ranch, where Jurassic Park was filmed. The scenery there is honestly breathtaking and it completely lived up to the hype.

Hawaii offers such a brilliant mix of adventure, relaxation, beaches and experiences all in one trip.

San Francisco – A California Classic

Golden gate bridge

San Francisco added a completely different feel to the trip and worked brilliantly after Hawaii.

There’s something special about the atmosphere here — the waterfront, cable cars, famous landmarks and incredible food scene make it one of those cities that’s simply enjoyable to explore together.

Texas - Live music and Rodeos

CowboyTexas offers that authentic American experience many couples don’t even consider for a honeymoon — live country music, rooftop bars, incredible food, rodeos and a nightlife scene that’s full of energy. It feels exciting, fun and completely different from the typical beach honeymoon.

One of the highlights is visiting the famous Fort Worth Stockyards, where you can experience a real Texas rodeo atmosphere. What makes it even better is that the Stockyards Championship Rodeo runs year-round, which is actually quite unusual and makes Dallas and Fort Worth a great option no matter when you travel.

Another huge advantage is the direct flights between Dallas and Dublin, making it a very easy addition to a wider honeymoon itinerary without complicated connections on the journey home.

Why I Love These Multi-Stop Honeymoons

What makes this type of honeymoon so special is the variety.

You can combine:

  • Cities and beaches
  • Adventure and relaxation
  • Wildlife and iconic landmarks
  • Luxury hotels and unforgettable experiences

It feels like several amazing trips rolled into one.

And for couples investing in a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon, that combination can create memories you’ll talk about for years afterwards.
