Croatia and its Islands

I visited the islands of Croatia at the end of October to find high temperatures, bustling towns and warm seas. It’s a lovely time to visit with less visitors than in the summer months.

I visited Cavtat and Croatia’s islands which were 22 degrees at end of October, hot enough to lie out.

Summer clothes are perfect for during the day but jeans or a jacket are required in the evening time as the temperature drops considerably once the sun goes in.

Cavtat: Cavtat is 30 mins from Dubrovnik by bus and 45 mins by boat around the coast. It’s a beautiful coastal town and not as busy as Dubrovnik.

We took a boat to Dubrovnik which takes 45 mins and it’s only €15 one way so it’s a wonderful way to travel to Dubrovnik. The boats go every 30 mins.

Dubrovnik is a beautiful walled city. You can walk the walls but don’t forget to check out the outside of the castle walls where on a rocky outcrop you will find the best place for a drink with all the wow factor and sea views.

Private speed boats can also be hired here from the port to visit the blue caves and Lopud and its beautiful beach at bay of Šunj. The total hire cost is €300 for 4-hours including lunch and drinks.

We took the most magical cable car ride to the most magical dining spot. Sitting on top of the mountain overlooking Dubrovnik and the coast while the sun set. The setting was fabulous and the food just as nice. This is definitely something I’d highly recommend you include on your Honeymoon.

Cable car is €26 pp return. Dinner €110. Front row seats. 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 desert and 3 glasses of wine.

Croatia is often overlooked as an island-hopping/Honeymoon destination, but it really is gorgeous and has all the wow required for a special trip.
