Exploring LA and all it has to offer

Los Angeles (LA) has always been a popular destination for my customers, whether they are exploring all that California has to offer, combining it with nearby Las Vegas or possibly cruising out of the city on an adventure to Mexico or the Panama Canal. I was extremely excited to see it myself for the first time! As there is so much to see and do, we decided on a 10 night trip.

There are lots of factors to consider when deciding on what area of LA will suit you best, so feel free to get in touch to discuss the many options. For this longer trip, we decided on Anaheim as a holiday base as it has a distinct holiday vibe as opposed to a big busy city landscape. It was the perfect base to explore the area and with excellent transfer options we decided not to hire a car. We stayed in the Marriott Anaheim which was a great choice, with a lovely outdoor pool and trendy bar, and it was within walking distance of Disneyland and a host of bars, shops and restaurants.

I had pre-booked tickets for Disney, a day trip to San Diego with time in Seaworld, a beach day in Santa Monica and a whirlwind day trip that took us to Beverly Hills, Belair, Hollywood and cruising along Mulholland Drive, we also spent some time in the trendy Farmers Market renowned for it’s fresh produce snapped up by some of the best restaurants in LA.

One of the highlights of the trip was our VIP experience in Universal Studios. I knew it would be busy due to the time of year, so I splurged on the VIP tickets which gave us priority seating at shows and the unlimited Universal Express. We had access to a special VIP lounge and a gourmet lunch in a fancy restaurant. One of the highlights was the exclusive backlot access we had where we toured some of the busiest movie sets on a special trolley and were also able to explore a number of fascinating and iconic sets.

Los Angeles has so much to offer, it’s a paradise for theme park lovers with a large selection including Legoland, Knotts Berry Farm and Six Flags to name a few. Shoppers can indulge in retail therapy with everything from flea markets and outlet malls to designer boutiques. Beach lovers have a multitude to choose from, including Malibu, Venice Beach and Manhattan Beach which are some of the most popular around the area.

For travellers looking for a cultural experience, there are a number of famous galleries and museums including The Getty Center located in the Brentwood area of the city. There are so many outdoor pursuits to choose from in LA, including surfing, paddle boarding and Kayaking to hiking and skating. A trip to the famous botanical gardens, the Griffith Observatory and even a trip over the border into Mexico are some of the ways to spend a unique holiday.
