Fabulous Algarve

We are just back from our family holiday in the Algarve. We stayed at the Jardim de Vau aparthotel in beautiful Praia de Vau beside Portimao. Loved this area and the accommodation was top class. We had a 2 bedroom spacious apartment overlooking the pool and sea. The double bedroom was huge with a big bathroom with bath and shower. The second bedroom had 2 twin beds and an ensuite, again very spacious. Lovely kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, cooker and coffee maker. Huge living room and dining area. Also an option to have 2 people to sleep on the sofa beds. Balcony was huge it has 4 sun loungers and also a dining table and 6 chairs.

Location was excellent right on the beach. Little supermarket had everything you needed. Lovely restaurant and bar on site. Indoor pool was spotless and huge. Gym on site, hairdresser and a little library that you could get books from. There was a children's area with slides. swings and trampoline and a kids pool.

The location is excellent right on the beach. You can walk for miles either by the cliff walk or by the beach. If you are into walking/hiking you will love the cliff walk. You can walk into Portimao where there are some fabulous restaurants right along the beach front. Further a field is the busier resort of Alvor and down by the port you have got all your night life. We loved going for a walk there in the evenings after dinner. Great buzz. Some nice bars and shops and ice cream parlours. The ice cream and crepes were to die for.

If you are golf lovers its a fantastic location as you are near so many amazing golf courses. Some of the restaurants we chose were called El dente, Thyme, and Mediterraneamente and the Vau steak house to name a few and none of them let us down and all were reasonably priced.

There is also a couple of water parks not too far if you want to try something more adventurous. Also if you want some retail therapy there is lovely boutiques in Alvor plus you also have the bigger shopping centres there too. We were just happy out on this holiday to enjoy the pool, swim in the sea and enjoy nice walks and lovely restaurants in the evening. I would definitely recommend this area for families, couples or groups of friends. It really does have something for everyone and we will definitely be back again very soon.
