Life On Board Norwegian Encore – A Caribbean Adventure Packed with Fun, Food and Freedom

One of the best parts of my job is experiencing holidays first hand so I can confidently recommend them to my clients. Recently, I spent seven nights sailing the Caribbean aboard Norwegian Encore, and from the moment I arrived in Miami, I knew this was going to be a fantastic trip.

Before boarding, we enjoyed a pre-cruise stay at The Tony Hotel in South Beach. The location couldn't have been better, with Miami's famous restaurants, bars and nightlife right on the doorstep. It's the perfect choice for anyone looking to add a little city break to their cruise holiday and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of South Beach before setting sail.

From the moment we stepped aboard, Norwegian Encore impressed. Stylish, modern and packed with amenities, the ship offers something for every type of traveller.

What immediately stood out was just how much there is to do. Whether you want action-packed days or complete relaxation, you can create exactly the holiday you want.

One of the ship's most talked-about attractions is the Encore Speedway – a thrilling go-kart racetrack at sea. Racing around the track with the Caribbean breeze in your face is an experience unlike anything else at sea.

For those seeking relaxation, the spa is a wonderful retreat, while the adults-only Spice H2O quickly became one of our favourite spots. With comfortable loungers, Jacuzzis and stunning ocean views, it was the perfect place to unwind.

Entertainment That Rivals Broadway

Norwegian Cruise Line is renowned for its entertainment, and Encore certainly delivers.

The standout show for me was The Choir of Man. Included in the cruise fare, this energetic production combines incredible vocals, live music, comedy and audience participation. It genuinely felt like watching a West End or Broadway production.

Elsewhere around the ship, there was always something happening. From the Beatles tribute performances and live music venues to karaoke nights and lively bars, the atmosphere was fantastic from morning until late into the evening.

Dining That Exceeds Expectations

Food is always an important part of any holiday, and Norwegian Encore exceeded expectations at every turn.

One of the highlights was dinner at Cagney's Steakhouse. The steaks were exceptional, the service was outstanding, and the entire experience felt truly special.

We also enjoyed dining at Onda by Scarpetta and the Texas Smokehouse, both of which showcased the quality and variety available across Norwegian's specialty dining venues.

Whether you prefer fine dining, casual bites, international cuisine or classic comfort food, there is something to suit every taste.

Adventures Ashore

Our Caribbean itinerary was filled with memorable experiences.

In Roatan, we combined an exhilarating ATV adventure through the jungle with some well-earned relaxation on the beach.

Grand Cayman offered crystal-clear waters, colourful marine life and the unforgettable opportunity to snorkel alongside stingrays before returning to the ship for some futuristic fun at the Galaxy Pavilion.

One of the highlights of the entire cruise was visiting Harvest Caye, Norwegian Cruise Line's private island in Belize.

Reserved exclusively for Norwegian guests, Harvest Caye is a tropical paradise featuring pristine beaches, turquoise waters, a huge pool area, private cabanas and a range of activities including ziplining and water sports. Whether you want adventure or total relaxation, it's easy to see why guests love spending the day here.

The Little Extras That Make a Big Difference

Throughout the cruise, it was often the smaller experiences that made the biggest impression.

Beer tasting at District Brew House, tackling the Escape Room challenge, enjoying cocktails while watching the sunset, and simply wandering the ship discovering new venues all added to the overall experience.

One of Norwegian's biggest selling points is undoubtedly the Free At Sea programme. Having drinks, specialty dining, WiFi and shore excursion credit included adds tremendous value and makes budgeting for your holiday much easier. It's one of the reasons Norwegian continues to be such a popular choice with cruisers.

Final Thoughts

Norwegian Encore perfectly combines freedom, flexibility and fun.
