Expedition Cruising at its finest.

Silver Endeavour: Adventure, But Make It Luxury

I was recently invited onboard Silver Endeavour for a ship visit and within minutes I knew this was something special.

Now, you all know I love a gorgeous hotel, lovely service and a touch of luxury, so I was curious to see whether an expedition ship could really give you all of that and take you to the ends of the earth.

The answer? Absolutely yes.

Entry Level Suite

This is not your typical cruise ship. This is for people who want extraordinary experiences, wild landscapes and bragging-rights destinations… but still appreciate a beautiful suite, fabulous food and someone bringing them a drink afterwards.

First Impressions

Fresh from dry dock, smelling of very expensive new carpet and looking immaculate, Silver Endeavour feels more like a boutique five-star hotel than a ship.

Everything felt calm, elegant and beautifully done. No loud chaos, no queues, no feeling like you are one of thousands. It has just around 100 suites across 8 decks, so it feels exclusive and intimate from the start.

It is the sort of place where you instantly relax and think, yes… I could get used to this.

Not Just Pretty… Properly Impressive

Behind all the lovely interiors is a seriously capable expedition ship.

Silver Endeavour is a PC6 ice rating.  It is reportedly the most expensive cruise ship ever built (per sq tonne).  The Bridge alone cost $45 million.  It is built to sail to some of the most remote and spectacular places in the world, including:

  • The Arctic in summer
  • Antarctica in winter
  • Norway and the British Isles
  • The legendary Northwest Passage at the right time of year

So yes, she is glamorous… but she is also the real deal.

The Bit That Makes It Special

What really stood out to me was the expedition team onboard.

Everyone is allocated a zodiac at the beginning of the voyage so there is no mad rush when its time to go on an excursion.  The boot/mud room is really impressive, outer wear is also included in the cost of your suite.  There are around 15 specialists whose job is to bring each destination to life. They head out with guests in zodiacs, guide landings and share their knowledge on everything from wildlife to history.

This is not a case of looking at somewhere from a sun lounger and sailing off again.

This is immersive travel. Proper stories to come home with.

But Let’s Talk Luxury

Because while adventure is fabulous, I know many of my clients still want comfort. Quite right too.

This is Silversea Cruises, so luxury runs through everything. Spacious suites, attentive service, elegant lounges and beautiful dining.

We had lunch onboard during the visit and it was excellent. The whole experience felt polished and premium without being stuffy.

There is also a beautiful spa

Who Would Love This?

I immediately thought of clients who say:

  • “I want something different now”
  • “I’ve done beach holidays”
  • “I want to see somewhere incredible”
  • “I like luxury, but I also like experiences”
  • “I don’t fancy a massive ship”

If that sounds like you, this could be a perfect fit.

My Honest Opinion

I genuinely left impressed.

You could feel the sense of adventure the minute you stepped onboard, but never at the expense of comfort or style. It manages to be exciting and elegant at the same time, which is not easy to pull off.

For anyone who says they are not a cruise person, this is exactly the sort of ship that might change your mind.

Fancy Something Extraordinary?

If Antarctica, the Arctic, Iceland, Norway or somewhere wonderfully remote has been sitting on your wish list, I would love to help you explore whether Silver Endeavour is right for you.

Because sometimes the greatest luxury is not just where you stay… it is where you get to go.
