Sail from Barcelona on an eleven night voyage through sunlit coastlines, historic cities and Atlantic islands. This journey brings together Andalusian charm, Portuguese culture, the volcanic landscapes of Madeira and the lively atmosphere of the western Mediterranean. From the tiled streets of Lisbon to the markets of Tangier and the beaches of Mallorca, this voyage blends culture, scenery and Mediterranean warmth, paired with return flights from Dublin and shared transfers.
Celebrity Xcel brings bold, modern design to the Mediterranean, with panoramic deck spaces, bright social areas and venues shaped around sea views. The Grand Plaza forms the heart of the ship, while the Magic Carpet and Rooftop Garden offer elevated open air spots to relax above the water. The Bazaar, a new multi-space concept unique to the ship, blends dining, retail and entertainment in one atmospheric setting. Included dining spans several restaurants, alongside Oceanview Café for global dishes and Mast Grill for casual meals on deck. Evenings bring shows in The Theatre, live music throughout the ship and quieter moments at the Sunset Bar as the coastline fades into dusk.
Fly from Dublin to Barcelona and transfer to the port. Before boarding, the city offers a blend of Gaudi architecture, tree lined boulevards, tapas bars and Mediterranean beaches. Once aboard, you sail out past the harbour and into open water as the journey begins.
Cadiz is one of Europe’s oldest continuously inhabited cities, founded by the Phoenicians more than 3,000 years ago. Its old town is a maze of narrow lanes, bright plazas and golden stone buildings shaped by centuries of maritime trade. From here, many guests travel inland to Seville, known for its grand cathedral, Alcazar palace and lively tapas culture. Whether you stay in Cadiz or venture further, this region captures the essence of southern Spain.
Lisbon is a city of old quarters, river views and calm open squares. Alfama’s lanes, the Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower show different periods in the city’s history, while the waterfront brings a slower pace. It is an easy city to explore on foot and one of the most distinctive capitals in Europe.
With two days in Madeira, you have time to experience Funchal’s markets, botanical gardens and waterfront, as well as the island’s elevated viewpoints and coastal routes. The volcanic landscape creates striking scenery, and the island’s mild climate makes this a favourite port of the voyage.
Tangier brings a clear change in atmosphere as you arrive in North Africa. The medina and hilltop Kasbah reflect centuries of trade and cultural influence, while the waterfront blends everyday life with views across the Strait of Gibraltar. It is a city of markets, cafés and layered history, easy to explore in a few relaxed hours.
Palma’s cathedral, old town lanes and harbour create a laid back final stop before returning to Barcelona. It is a pleasant city to wander, shop or enjoy a final meal by the sea.
