Day 1: Welcome to Tashkent
Arrive in Uzbekistan’s vibrant capital, Tashkent. Meet your fellow travellers and tour leader for a welcome meeting, followed by an optional group dinner to get a taste of Uzbek cuisine.
Day 2: Exploring Tashkent
Discover Tashkent’s mix of Soviet-era architecture and Islamic heritage. Visit Khast Imam Complex, home to the world’s oldest Quran, explore Chorsu Bazaar, and ride the city’s beautifully decorated metro. In the evening, board an overnight train to Khiva.
Day 3: Ancient Khiva
Arrive in the UNESCO-listed walled city of Khiva and step back in time as you wander through its preserved medieval streets. Visit the stunning Kalta Minor Minaret, Kunya-Ark Fortress, and Juma Mosque, and enjoy a traditional Uzbek dinner in a historic caravanserai.
Day 4: Journey to Bukhara
Take a scenic drive across the Kyzylkum Desert to Bukhara, one of Uzbekistan’s most sacred cities. Enjoy a relaxing evening at a boutique hotel in the heart of the old town.
Day 5: Holy Bukhara
Explore Bukhara’s timeless beauty, including the Ark Fortress, Bolo Haouz Mosque, and Poi Kalon Complex. Experience a traditional cooking class with a local family, learning to make plov, Uzbekistan’s national dish.
Day 6: Rural Village Experience
Travel to a nearby Uzbek village, where you’ll meet locals, see daily life, and take part in traditional crafts. Return to Bukhara in the afternoon and enjoy free time to explore at your own pace.
Day 7: Samarkand – Jewel of the Silk Road
Travel by train to Samarkand, Uzbekistan’s most iconic city. Stand in awe at Registan Square, visit the grand Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, and admire the stunning Bibi-Khanym Mosque.
Day 8: Samarkand’s Hidden Treasures
Continue exploring Samarkand, including the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis and the Siab Bazaar. Enjoy a free afternoon to shop for silk and spices or relax at a teahouse.
Day 9-10: Return to Tashkent
Take the high-speed train back to Tashkent and enjoy a farewell dinner with your group, reflecting on your journey through Uzbekistan. Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
