Nova Scotia, Canada’s adventure capital
With such a lot of wild outdoors to offer, Nova Scotia is a fabulous adventure destination. We’ve picked some of our favourite pursuits to try while you’re here...
Begin your journey in Miami Beach before sailing west along one of the world’s most storied routes. This fourteen night journey from Florida to California combines Caribbean shores, colonial old towns, rainforest coastlines and the remarkable transit of the Panama Canal. With stops in Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Mexico, and a grand finale in Los Angeles, this voyage blends culture, scenery and engineering wonder into one unforgettable crossing.
Celebrity Summit blends traditional cruise charm with fresh enhancements that make sea days feel relaxed and comfortable. The main pool deck and adults only Solarium offer quiet places to unwind, while the Sky Lounge and Rendezvous Lounge feature wide sea views through floor to ceiling windows. Dining includes a number of included restaurants, Oceanview Café for global dishes and casual venues for lighter meals. Evenings unfold in The Theatre and in lounges throughout the ship, with live music and calm spaces to settle in with a drink.
Your cruise begins in Fort Lauderdale, a city shaped by inlets, waterways and miles of golden beach. Palm lined promenades, warm weather and a relaxed coastal atmosphere make it an easy place to settle into the rhythm of the journey before sailing at sunset.
Grand Cayman is known for its clear turquoise water, bright coral reefs and calm Caribbean feel. Seven Mile Beach stretches along soft white sand, while the island’s wildlife centres offer a chance to learn about local marine life and the turtles that once inspired the islands’ early name. The town of George Town adds colour with shops, cafés and waterfront views across the bay.
Cartagena’s old town is one of Latin America’s most evocative historic districts. Founded in 1533, the city still carries its colonial character in stone ramparts, fortress walls and flower filled balconies that overlook narrow lanes. Bright squares, lively cafés and Caribbean architecture create a warm, atmospheric setting. With its blend of history, culture and coastal charm, Cartagena is a highlight of the voyage.
The transit of the Panama Canal is one of the world’s great maritime experiences. Completed in 1914, this series of locks and channels links the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans across 80 kilometres of rainforest, lakes and engineering feats. Watching the ship rise and descend through the locks offers a rare perspective on a project that changed global trade and navigation. Lush landscapes and historic sites line the route, adding natural beauty to the canal’s remarkable scale.
Located along Costa Rica’s Pacific shore, Puntarenas offers access to rainforests, rivers and wildlife rich national parks. Scarlet macaws, monkeys and tropical birds are often seen in the region’s protected areas, while volcanic terrain and warm ocean views create striking scenery. The town itself brings local cafés, coastal charm and a relaxed pace that reflects Costa Rica’s pura vida spirit.
Puerto Vallarta sits along the sweeping curve of Banderas Bay, framed by the Sierra Madre mountains. Its historic centre mixes cobbled streets, whitewashed houses and red tiled roofs, while the waterfront Malecón brings sculptures, markets and views across the bay. The region’s blend of beaches, cultural districts and surrounding hills makes this one of Mexico’s most atmospheric coastal towns.
Throughout the journey, you will also experience a selection of smaller ports and scenic coastlines that add variety to the route:
Colón, Panama for its Caribbean waterfront and access to nearby rainforest reserves
Mazatlán, Mexico known for its historic centre, seafront promenade and golden beaches
Your voyage concludes in Los Angeles, a city known for its creative energy, sunlit coastline and iconic neighbourhoods. From the hills above the Griffith Observatory to the broad sands of Santa Monica, the city offers a final burst of West Coast atmosphere before your two night stay on Sunset Boulevard. It is a vibrant, cinematic end to a journey that spans two oceans and multiple cultures.
