Miami 2026: The Year Ahead

In 2026, sport will take over every corner of the Magic City. Engines will roar and crowds will sing, baseball fans from Tokyo to San Juan will unite, and the season will close with the thunder of NASCAR. Whether you come for the matches or simply to feel the pulse of the city, Miami will be alive with competition, music and celebration from January through November.

FIFA World Cup – A Global Stage

From June to July, Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens will host several FIFA World Cup matches, including group and quarter-final fixtures that will draw fans from across the world. The stadium, already famous for its Super Bowl and F1 events, will become a sea of colour, song and flags.

Those without a ticket will still feel part of the action in Little Havana or Wynwood, where cafés, breweries and outdoor screens will broadcast every match.
For a true fan atmosphere, watch with locals at Batch Gastropub in Brickell.

Formula One Miami Grand Prix – Speed Meets Style

Every May, the Formula One Miami Grand Prix transforms the city into a festival of precision, design and adrenaline. The circuit around Hard Rock Stadium combines racing with spectacle, attracting fans, celebrities and locals alike. Across the city, waterfront bars and rooftop lounges come alive with race-day parties and screenings.
Black Market Miami offers one of the best vantage points to catch the action among locals.

Winter Classic - North meets South

On 2 January, Miami will make sporting history as the NHL Winter Classic comes to Florida for the first time. The Florida Panthers will face the New York Rangers in an open-air arena with a retractable roof, bringing the spirit of northern hockey to the tropics.

For those not in the stands, the atmosphere will be just as electric along Biscayne Bay, where sports bars and terraces host live screenings.
Duffy’s Sports Grill in North Miami Beach is ideal for watching the game beside the water.

World Baseball Classic

In March, baseball returns to its international stage as the World Baseball Classic unfolds at loanDepot Park, home of the Miami Marlins. Teams from Japan, the Caribbean, and Latin America will fill the city with music, flags and competitive fire. Miami’s deep baseball heritage makes it a natural host for the tournament, with its energy spilling into the streets long after the final pitch.
For a lively local crowd, Cervecería La Tropical in Wynwood shows the games with craft beer and Cuban rhythm.

NASCAR – The Return to Homestead

In November, the NASCAR Cup Series roars back to Homestead-Miami Speedway, closing the motorsport season in true Floridian fashion. The 1.5-mile oval track has long been a fan favourite, framed by palm trees and sunsets, and offers one of the most dramatic backdrops in American racing. Even those staying in the city can join the excitement.
The Wharf Miami, set on the Miami River, streams the races in an open-air waterfront setting with food trucks and live DJs.

Beyond the Stadiums

What makes Miami special is how effortlessly sport and lifestyle intertwine. Mornings might start with a run along South Beach, afternoons with a walk through Wynwood Walls or a visit to the Perez Art Museum, and evenings with dinner in Coconut Grove or drinks overlooking Biscayne Bay.

Between the big events, Miami offers the rhythm of a city in motion, vibrant, inclusive and endlessly sunny.

If you’re the type of traveller who loves to feel part of the atmosphere, to watch sport surrounded by locals, and to experience a city that lives and breathes its passions, Miami 2026 is the place to be.
