Explore the Islands of Greece

If you have been watching Race Across the World on BBC One, you will know Greece is on the route this series. This is Greece at its best. Fifteen nights taking in Athens, Paros, Naxos and Santorini, from ancient ruins and rooftop bars to clifftop villages and black sand beaches. Direct flights from Dublin with Aer Lingus and breakfast included throughout. Four destinations, one well-built route.

Explore the Islands of Greece

Athens

Athens is where the trip begins, a city where ancient ruins and modern street life sit side by side. The Acropolis and Parthenon sit above the city and are worth the climb for the views alone. Below it, the Plaka neighbourhood is full of tavernas, coffee shops and narrow streets worth exploring on foot. Two nights at Fresh Hotel gives you time to take it all in before heading to the islands.

Paros

Paros

Paros is built around the harbour town of Naoussa, with its iconic whitewashed villages and some of the clearest water in the Aegean. Three nights at Mr and Mrs White Paros, a boutique hotel with Jacuzzi rooms in Naoussa, puts you in the heart of the island's best village. The beaches around Naoussa are some of the finest in the Cyclades and the town itself is easy to spend an evening in.

Naxos

Naxos is the largest of the Cyclades and the most varied. The beaches at Aghios Prokopios are long, wide and consistently ranked among the best in Greece. Four nights at Kouros Art Hotel, a sea view property right in Aghios Prokopios, gives you time to explore the beaches, visit Naxos Town and take a drive inland through the island's mountain villages.

Santorini

Santorini is one of the most recognisable islands in the world and the final stop on the route. The island is built on the rim of a volcanic caldera, with villages of white and blue clinging to the cliff tops above the sea. Six nights at Antoperla Luxury Hotel and Spa in Perissa gives you time to explore the caldera villages of Fira and Oia, visit the black sand beaches and watch the sunset that Santorini is famous for.
