Setting out from Tromsø, you’ll spend an unforgettable week immersing yourself in the glacial majesty of the Lyngen Alps, the dramatic Lofoten Islands, the forested mountains of Vesterålen, and serene Senja, seeing snow-frosted mountains, deep blue fjords, quaint fishing villages and – with luck – the Northern Lights.
Senja, Norway’s second-largest island – often referred to as ‘Norway-in-miniature’ - is a place of rugged mountains, sandy beaches, deep forests, charming fishing villages, and free-roaming reindeer. You’ll be warmly welcomed by a local community and learn about Sámi culture and life in remote villages during the winter months. At times, you’ll be sailing in the dark and at dusk, through glittering snowscapes illuminated by the low sun and the starlight.
Sailing towards the Lofoten Islands, your Expedition Team will scout for spots for a great nature landing – perhaps a fine beach covered in pristine snow. They may also take you in a small expedition boat or kayak to explore between remote islands.
