Southampton – Departure

Fly from Dublin and travel by private transfer to the port before setting sail. As Celebrity Apex departs Southampton, the journey north begins with long days of light and ever changing scenery ahead.

Flam – Deep in the Heart of the Fjords

Flam sits at the end of Aurlandsfjord, one of the most striking branches of the Sognefjord, Norway’s longest and deepest fjord. Towering cliffs rise sharply from still emerald water, creating a landscape that has captivated travellers for generations. Historically, this fjord route linked inland valleys to the coast, shaping trade and settlement in the region. From the village, views stretch through narrow valleys and towards waterfalls that plunge from high mountain ledges.

Olden – Gateway to Europe’s Largest Glacier

Olden is a peaceful village surrounded by bright green valleys, turquoise lakes and mountains shaped by ice. Its significance lies in its proximity to Jostedalsbreen, the largest glacier on the European mainland, which has sculpted the region’s dramatic contours over thousands of years. Wooden farmhouses, calm lakes and the towering peaks of Nordfjord create an atmosphere that is both gentle and immense. The Loen Skylift, which rises from the fjord to a mountain summit in minutes, showcases vistas that capture the raw geology of western Norway.

Tromsø

Often called the Gateway to the Arctic,

Tromsø has a history shaped by polar expeditions, scientific research and Sámi culture. Its striking Arctic Cathedral, completed in the 1960s, is one of Norway’s most recognisable modern landmarks. Museums across the city trace stories of Arctic wildlife, early explorers and life in the far north, while the surrounding mountains and waterways glow under the midnight sun. The cable car to Storsteinen offers sweeping views across the archipelago.

Honningsvag and the North Cape

Honningsvag leads to the North Cape, a dramatic headland rising 307 metres above the sea and long considered the northernmost point of continental Europe. Travellers have journeyed here for centuries to stand at what feels like the edge of the world. The iconic globe monument looks out over the meeting of the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans, and the surrounding landscape is stark, windswept and unforgettable. It is one of the defining moments of any journey into the far north.

Alesund

Alesund is one of Europe’s finest examples of art nouveau architecture. After a devastating fire in 1904, the town was rebuilt entirely in ornate stonework, with turrets, mosaics and decorative façades that create a distinctive, storybook character. Built across several islands connected by bridges, the town is best understood from the Mount Aksla viewpoint, which reveals the surrounding fjords and the full curve of the archipelago.

Geiranger – A UNESCO Fjord

Geirangerfjord is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Norway’s most celebrated natural wonders. Steep cliffs rise directly from deep blue water, waterfalls tumble from high mountain ledges and abandoned farmsteads cling impossibly to slopes carved by ice. Iconic landmarks such as the Seven Sisters and Bridal Veil waterfalls are recognised worldwide, but it is the sheer scale and silence of the fjord that make it unforgettable. Sailing into Geiranger is one of the most striking moments of the voyage.

Bruges (Zeebrugge)

Your final port is Zeebrugge, from where you can travel into Bruges. Known for its medieval squares, cobbled lanes and picturesque canals, Bruges offers a charming contrast to Norway’s wild landscapes. Chocolate shops, cafés and historic buildings make this a gentle and delightful end to the journey before returning to Southampton.
