Flying Business Class with Etihad Our journey began in style with Etihad Airways. The cabin crew were superb, warm, attentive, and made us feel completely at ease. The inflight dining was absolutely delicious – a real treat! While the aircraft is beginning to show its age and we had a hiccup with the inflight entertainment (which led to a seat change), the crew handled it professionally and with genuine care.
Qasr Al Watan – A Palace of Grandeur Our tour of Qasr Al Watan was simply breathtaking. This is more than a presidential palace – it's a celebration of Arabian heritage and craftsmanship. The opulence, intricate detail, and sheer scale of the building impressed us beyond words. A must-see for anyone interested in history, architecture, or just jaw-dropping beauty!
Lunch by the Corniche We enjoyed a fantastic lunch along Abu Dhabi’s Corniche – the kebabs were mouth-watering, the service was impeccable, and the seaside setting made it all the more enjoyable. Special shout-out to our wonderful transport driver who was friendly, professional, and always on hand to assist.
Hotel Highlights: From City Buzz to Beachfront Bliss
Pearl Rotana Hotel (Site Inspection) A smart, business-class hotel located in downtown Abu Dhabi. While we didn’t stay overnight, the rooftop pool with city views, modern rooms, and proximity to great restaurants make this a perfect choice for short leisure stays as well. A solid 4-star+ property with excellent evening dining and brilliant staff.
Beach Rotana Hotel (Stayed) This hotel won our hearts! With a private entrance to the adjacent Mall, it’s ideal for families and shopaholics alike. The breakfast spread was fantastic, staff went above and beyond, and the location is unbeatable. It’s a tried-and-tested favourite I confidently recommend for families, and it continues to impress.
Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas (Stayed) For those seeking luxury and seclusion, this is the place to be. Located on a gorgeous stretch of beach, it’s far enough from the city to feel exclusive, yet close enough to enjoy everything Abu Dhabi has to offer. Perfect for families, couples, or multi-generational holidays, with kids' clubs, watersports, and incredible dining. Pool and bar staff were outstanding – friendly, discreet, and efficient. This hotel really knows how to pamper guests!
Yas Island Adventures What a day we had at Yas Island! From Warner Bros World to Ferrari World, we were blown away by the rides, the theming, and how well everything is air-conditioned and interconnected – making park-hopping easy and comfortable, even in the hotter months. Whether you're a thrill-seeker or have little ones in tow, this is family fun at its best.
The Louvre Abu Dhabi & TeamLab Phenomena The Louvre Abu Dhabi was as impressive as I had hoped – elegant, serene, and filled with artistic treasures. A highlight, though, was TeamLab Phenomena – a mesmerising sensory experience that’s interactive, colourful, and unforgettable. Kids and adults alike will be amazed. Highly recommended!
