Chasing the Sun on Sun Princess
Princess are a premium cruise line and I felt this in every aspect of my sailing. My ocean facing balcony stateroom was bright, well appointed and felt spacious. She accommodates up to 4300 passengers and has new features never seen before for the cruise line such as the Dome, a glass enclosed dome with multi purpose use from lounging during the day to shows at night.
A highlight for me was the food on board. I genuinely expected teething problems given it was the first sailing but couldn't have been more impressed with the quality, standard and choice of food. I also had the princess plus package (drinks package, Wi-Fi and gratuities) and made use of this throughout my cruise.
The joy of cruising lies in waking up somewhere different most days and we docked at Naples, Chania and Kusadasi during our sailing, all of which I immensely enjoyed.
Entertainment on board was not fully up and running but from what I did get to see and do, I really enjoyed it. There was always something to do and a lot of variety. Some stand outs were the Irish duo in O Malleys Irish bar as well as comedians and nightly karaoke.
We cruised in February so the weather was not conducive to swimming (though there were a few brave souls) but this is where the covered Dome as well as many jacuzzies were put to use. I had always thought I wouldn't enjoy to cruise "out of season" but my mind was firmly changed, a feat in itself. I have had many clients sail on board since my sailing and feedback has been amazing. I would highly recommend Princess cruises especially Sun Princess and her sister Star, due to launch in 2025.
