Is Ikos Really Worth the Hype – and the Price?
If you’ve ever looked at an Ikos holiday, there’s probably one question that’s crossed your mind… Can an all-inclusive holiday really be worth that much? Because let’s be honest – Ikos isn’t cheap. I’ve now visited and experienced several Ikos resorts myself, I work closely with the brand through Travel Counsellors and it’s one I book time and time again for my own clients. So… is Ikos actually worth the money? Keep reading and I’ll give you my verdict at the end!

This isn’t all-inclusive as you know it. The Ikos concept is called Unconditional Luxury, and it feels a million miles away from a traditional all-inclusive. Think beautiful à la carte restaurants, menus created by Michelin-starred chefs, premium branded drinks, cocktails, an incredible wine selection, 24-hour room service and a minibar replenished daily. Food is a huge part of the experience. You can eat somewhere completely different every evening – Greek, Italian, Asian, French, Mediterranean – and it genuinely feels like going out for dinner rather than simply eating at your hotel.

Then there are all the extras. You can take an electric MINI Countryman out for the day to explore, dine at selected local restaurants through the Dine Out programme, enjoy loads of sports and activities and, of course, there’s the brilliant kids’ club too. It’s an all-inclusive that actually encourages you to get out and experience the destination. Luxury for us, amazing for the children. This is probably why I love Ikos so much for families. You don’t have to choose between a holiday that’s brilliant for your children and somewhere that feels properly luxurious for you. The children can disappear off to kids’ club, try different activities and have the best time while you actually get to relax. Then everyone gets dressed up and heads out for a gorgeous dinner together.

And the service is a huge part of it. Across the Ikos properties I’ve experienced, the staff have this lovely “of course we can” attitude. Nothing feels like too much trouble and the service is incredibly personal without ever feeling stuffy. You also know what you’re getting with Ikos. The resorts each have their own personality, but that standard of beautiful design, amazing food and exceptional service runs through them all.
Is Deluxe worth considering?
Absolutely – but you don’t need it to have an amazing Ikos holiday. The standard Ikos offering is already exceptional. The Deluxe Collection simply takes things up another level, with benefits such as a dedicated concierge, exclusive pool and beach areas at most resorts and additional experiences. I’d particularly consider it for a special occasion, if you want one of the larger suites or private-pool options, or if having a quieter, more exclusive area is important to you.

So, which Ikos is for you?
Although you know the standard you’re going to get, the resorts aren’t all the same.
Ikos Aria, Kos is a brilliant all-rounder and a great choice for your first Ikos.
Ikos Oceania, Halkidiki has a slower, more relaxed feel, while Ikos Olivia works beautifully for families with babies and younger children.
Ikos Dassia, Corfu is fantastic for older children, teens and multi-generational families, with plenty going on for different ages.
Ikos Odisia, Corfu is brilliant when space is important, particularly for bigger families – and was actually Travel Counsellors’ best-selling Ikos in 2026.
Ikos Andalusia is one I’d look at for families who love to explore, with Marbella and Estepona nearby, while Ikos Porto Petro in Mallorca is a great fit for active and sporty families.
And then there’s Ikos Kissamos in Crete, the newest addition to the collection and another exciting option for loyal Ikos guests wondering where to try next.
There isn’t really one best Ikos. There’s a best Ikos for you – and that’s where knowing the differences between them really matters.

So… is Ikos actually worth the money?
For me, yes. It’s expensive, but expensive and poor value are two very different things.
When you look at what you’re actually getting – incredible dining, premium drinks, children’s clubs, activities, entertainment, room service, minibar, Dine Out experiences and even a car to explore the destination – that initial price starts to make a lot more sense.
But I also think you’re paying for something that’s harder to put a price on. Ease. You arrive knowing almost everything has already been taken care of. Order the cocktail. Have the wine. Let the children have another ice cream. Book the restaurant. You’re not spending your holiday mentally adding up a bill.

There’s a reason Ikos is a brand I sell again and again – and why it has such a loyal following. Travel Counsellors is also a preferred partner of Ikos, and because I work closely with the brand and know the resorts personally, I can help you choose the right Ikos, the right room and whether those upgrades are actually worth spending your money on – while taking care of the whole holiday for you. People often come home from their first Ikos not asking where they should go next… but which Ikos they should try next.
So, is it worth the hype? I think it absolutely is. Just be warned – once you’ve experienced Ikos, it might completely ruin other all-inclusives for you!
