Muscat & Barr Al Jissah

After a short connection in Abu Dhabi, arrive in Muscat where your private transfer will bring you to the Shangri La Barr Al Jissah – Al Waha, a beachfront resort set between the Hajar Mountains and the Gulf of Oman. Your Executive Seaview Room provides plenty of space and easy access to the resort’s pools, beach and family areas. Younger guests can enjoy the Cool Zone Kids Club, with daily activities and supervised play, while older children will love floating along the Lazy River that links the resort’s pools. Mornings begin with breakfast by the water, followed by time for snorkelling, kayaking or simply relaxing together. Evenings are calm and unhurried, with the sea just steps away.

Nizwa & the Hajar Mountains

Your private tour to Nizwa begins with a drive inland through changing scenery, where the mountains rise from the desert. Families can explore Nizwa Fort together, climbing its towers and walking the ramparts for wide views across the old town. In the nearby souq, children enjoy the colours and bustle while adults browse the stalls of pottery, silver and dates. The journey then leads into the hills towards the Grand Canyon of Oman, where everyone can take in the scale of the valleys and the quiet beauty of the landscape. It is a full and memorable day that brings Omani history and nature to life for all ages.

Al Sharqiyah Sands & Wadi Bani Khalid

A highlight of the week is a full day guided excursion into the Al Sharqiyah Sands, a chance for families to experience Oman’s desert first-hand. Travel across open dunes by 4x4, stopping to see how Bedouin communities live in this vast landscape. Children enjoy the thrill of the desert drive and the open space, while parents can take in the stillness and views that stretch for miles. The journey continues to Wadi Bani Khalid, a mountain oasis of clear pools and palms where everyone can swim or paddle in the cool water. After lunch in a local setting, the return to Muscat brings one last look at the dunes glowing in the late afternoon light

The final days are all about family time. Spend slow mornings on the beach building sandcastles or swimming together in the calm shallows. Relax by the pool, or take a short trip into Muscat to see the Muttrah Corniche and Grand Mosque. As evening arrives, enjoy dinner by the water and look back on a week filled with new places, stories and time well spent together.
