Doha and the Maldives: City Break to Island Escape

This ten night journey combines a short city stay in Doha with a week in the Maldives, moving from cultural highlights and desert landscapes to overwater villa living. With flights from Dublin, private transfers, special offers included and a mix of guided trips and free time, this itinerary is designed for couples who want contrast without complexity.

Doha and the Maldives: City Break to Island Escape

Doha, Qatar

Begin with three nights in Doha, an easy stopover city that works well as a contrast to the Maldives. It’s warm year round, straightforward to get around and offers a mix of modern waterfront areas and open desert just outside the city. Staying on The Pearl places you by the water, with marinas, promenades and restaurants all within walking distance.

One evening, take a relaxed boat cruise along the coast in a traditional wooden dhow, sailing past the skyline as the city lights come on. Drinks and views make this an easy, low-key way to spend an evening.

Another day is spent heading out into the desert by 4x4. You’ll drive across the dunes, try sandboarding and travel down to the Inland Sea, where the desert meets the water near the Saudi border.

The Maldives

After Doha, fly onward to the Maldives, arriving into Malé before transferring by seaplane to Siyam World. The flight over the atolls is part of the experience, giving you your first view of the lagoon you will call home for the next seven nights.

Siyam World Maldives

Stay in a Water Villa with Pool and Slide, set directly over the lagoon. Start the day with a swim from your deck, then head out to explore the island at your own pace. You can snorkel straight from the beach, take a kayak or paddleboard out on the lagoon, or spend time at the floating water park just offshore. There are also plenty of quieter options, from walks around the island to time by the pools or beach.
