A fairytale Stay at the Disneyland Hotel in Disneyland Paris

In January 2024, I was lucky to be one of the first guests to experience the newly refurbished Disneyland Hotel. The hotel had been closed for refurbishment for years and when I had seen the reopening date announced I quickly booked a trip. Since my first ever trip to Disneyland Paris at the age of 12 it was an ambition of mine to stay in this hotel one day and I was so so excited to be able to bring my own family.

Getting there We flew to Paris with Air France from Dublin, the flight was quick, and Air France were great to fly with. I had prearranged a private transfer to meet us at the airport to bring us to the hotel and this is something I always do and always recommend clients do especially travelling with young children.

We arrived at the hotel’s main entrance and were met by their welcome team of porters who helped us with our luggage and directed us to check in, at the time we visited only residents of the Disneyland hotel were allowed any entry to the hotel, they were strict with security.

The hotel From the moment you step into the lobby you are amazed! Every part of this hotel is beautiful, inside and out. There was something magical about this hotel, fairy-tale like. The décor is elegant; the access we had to Disney Princesses was amazing.

Check in did take a while, teething problems of the first few days but we did not mind waiting because the lobby area of the hotel is stunning. Beautifully decorated with a frozen themed chandelier, it certainly has the wow factor.

I booked the lead in room, a superior room with 2 comfortable double beds, it had a minibar, Lavazza coffee, all the mod cons needed. A lovely touch was the addition of 2 little robes for the kids to use throughout their stay and making our way down to the pool.

Dining at the hotel We pre-booked breakfast in the Royal Banquet as part of our package and the breakfast at the Disneyland hotel was great. Ample choice of hot and cold foods and the room where they serve the breakfast overlooking the park entrance. I liked that they served breakfast until 11am, it meant you could sleep in a little later or take advantage of the extra magic hour in the park when it was at its quieter and head back to the hotel for mid-morning breakfast. We also enjoyed afternoon coffees in Fleur de lye's café each day, overall, the dining options in the hotel are very good.

Location One of the main perks about the Disneyland hotel is its proximity to the parks, you are literally at the entrance to the Disneyland Park, it was so convenient throughout our stay to be so close to the attractions. The Walt Disney Studios theme park was a short 5-minute stroll away from the hotel as was the Disney village with lots of restaurants to choose from. Throughout our 3-night trip we enjoyed the park rides and shows, popped back to the hotel for a nice coffee, relaxed in our rooms and did not have to rush to make the parades.

The access you have to meet & greet opportunities is another perk to enjoy when staying in the hotel is unmatched, throughout the day Princess and Disney characters can be seen walking around the hotel and taking pictures with guests.

The pool stayed open till 10pm most nights so we made sure to visit each night of our trip. Some nights we watched the fireworks from the pool it was lovely to relax after a day in the parks.

My royal dream When I tell you this is something that will stay with me forever, it was such a special experience with my daughter I will never forget. A must do if you are visiting Disneyland with a little princess or prince. They are treated like royalty as they pick out their dress, crown, shoes and accessories, then taking to the studio for hair make up and finally a photoshoot. It was amazing!

Is the hotel worth the price? 100% yes, it really is a special experience staying in this hotel, from the moment you step into the lobby your whole Disneyland Paris trip is elevated, you will not regret booking this hotel. My kids were aged 3 & 4 at the time of travelling, I am often asked if this is too young for Disney, but I loved seeing the magic through their little eyes. I think a Disney trip is special at any age.

If you would like to talk to me more about booking your own magical trip to the Disneyland Hotel, please do get in touch I would be delighted to look after your travel arrangements.
