Stunning Lake Garda

This year we booked our camping holiday to Lake Garda in Italy. We chose to stay at Bella Italia as I have booked so many of my clients in the past I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. We normally travel with our car to France so this was a different experience for us.

Well I wasn't disappointed; the flight took approx. 2.5 hours from Dublin to Verona and then we took a half hour taxi ride to Bella Italia. We didn't hire a car as it really wasn't necessary, everything we needed was right on our door step.

This is a very large complex in Pescheria Del Garda that has a hotel, apartments, bungalows, mobiles and a camping ground if you wanted to bring your own camper van or caravan, so options for everyone. It is right on the lake about one kilometre from Pescheria Del Garda itself, a lovely stroll down along the lake to get to the town where there is a great selection of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. There are also many fab restaurants on site which were so reasonably priced I would recommend you pay them a visit, the staff were to nice and friendly.

I have to be honest I wasn't ready for how stunning this area is. I had been to Italy before but the views out over the lake with the mountains in the back ground really was a sight. There were so many activities in the campsite and the local area that you really have no choice but to get up and go. It is a sightseer’s paradise from day trips to Verona and Venice to boat trips to many fabulous towns along the lake. If you are into cycling you can hire bikes and cycle along the lake or take your bicycle onto on one of the many boats to other towns to explore. We took a bus one evening and went to Sirmione for a stroll and dinner, with its cobbled streets and castle and fab restaurants it is a must for any trip to Lake Garda.

We spent another full day in Garda Land, this is quite a large Theme Park about 20-minute drive from Pescheria Del Garda, with lots of rollercoasters and shows and an Aquarium, it is a definite for fun day out.

We had 10 nights in Lake Garda and I would have stayed longer and will definitely return, I would highly recommend this campsite and area for a family holiday.
