We travelled to Disneyland Resort Paris (Eurodisney) last May and because we live in Kilmore which is near to Rosslare we decided to travel by ferry so we packed up the car, loaded up our roof box and we headed for the port. I can tell you all about Eurodisney but as it is a place for kids I thought why not let my 10 year old tell write his thoughts for my journal... here is his story:-

‘OUR HOLIDAY – by Josh Cahill On our holiday we went to Disneyland in Paris, now I am going to tell you about it. The boat was great. There was lots of entertainment, including magic shows, cinema and discos. There were good restaurants and nice food. The toilets were always clean and the crew were always friendly. My little brother Max (aged 3) always played in the play area while my parents were at the sitting area outside of the play area. The gift shop is full of nice surprises for everybody. So the boat was great but I’d better move on to the most important part which was Disneyland Paris. The boat docked at Cherbourg. You could do your shopping there because the supermarket is only a short drive from the port. It was a four and a half hour drive to Disneyland but we survived. Finally we got there. The hotel we stayed in was called the Dream Castle, it was an amazing hotel. The lobby was very colourful with lots of Disney decorations everywhere and the rooms were magnificent. They were decorated as if we were royalty. The food there was really nice. The breakfast was a buffet so we could eat all we wanted…

A bus picks people up at the hotel every twenty minutes or so to bring you to Disney. When you get to Disneyland you don’t know what to think, you are excited beyond belief. The park is unbelievable, the rides, the characters the excitement it is just so cool. One night we ate at a restaurant called café Mickey, it was a restaurant that all the Disney characters like Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse all walk around while you eat your dinner. It was the highlight of the trip… we stayed in Disneyland Resort Paris for five whole nights and we all had the time of our lives… our holiday was great and I hope that we can go back there sometime soon.....’’

So what more can be said, we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience in Disneyland and like my son, I would highly recommend it as a family break with a bit of magic thrown in!
