Your first stop is the Sacred Valley of the Incas. On a guided tour explore Pisac, one of the most important towns of the Sacred Valley. Here along the Vilcanota River, where you will find native communities, impressive terraces and many important archaeological sites. In Pisac visit famed artisans' and antiques market which is considered to be one of Peru's liveliest. After exploring Pisac's market you'll visit the Inca ruins above the town which offer spectacular views over the Urubamba River, agricultural terraces and intricate Inca waterworks.
Then the highlight of your trip – Machu Picchu and what better way to see this natural wonder than at sunrise. To reach Machu Picchu in time for sunrise you'll leave early from your hotel to arrive as the National Park opens and witness the morning clouds lift off the ruins and experience the site's true mystique. Your private guide will accompany you to the Guard Shack at Machu Picchu where you'll get the best view as the sun rises above the surrounding mountains and lighting up this World Wonder, as well as an extended tour and explanation of the history, surrounding areas, and the sacred legend of Machu Picchu.
Next on your adventurer’s expedition is Iguazu Falls. After arriving in Iguazu National Park, climb climb aboard a small train at the entrance of the National Park and your first stop will be the ominously named Devil's Throat (Garganta del Diablo) which standing at over 262ft. is the biggest waterfall of Iguazu. Having soaked up the enormity of the Devil’s Throat your guide will take you along the wooden walkways and trails of both the upper and lower circuit. With over 270 separate waterfalls and surrounded by the verdant jungle of Iguazu, exploring the Natural World Wonder of Iguazu is one of the most unforgettable moments.
The following day you will have the opportunity to see a whole new perspective from the Brazilian side of the Falls. Bordering Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay, the Brazilian side of Iguaçu offers a panoramic view of the Falls, looking straight over at the Argentinean side.
Your final stop is Rio de Janeiro. This fantastic city is a spectacular spot to finish your South America Adventure. You can soak up the party atmosphere (something that never disappears in this city!) and watch the sun set over the Sugarloaf Mountain from the mouth of Guanabara Bay. The panoramic view of the surrounding beaches, mountains and forests is breathtaking when the sun begins to set and is easily accessible by cable car.
