Prague

Prague is my favourite European city. I have been to Prague over 30 times and I got married in the old town square back in September 2006. My wife is from Prague so I frequently visit this amazing city.

Prague has so much to offer all year round and my favourite time has to be Christmas time. I travel before or after Christmas every year to see the Christmas market, go ice skating and sample various different types of Mulled wines and be amongst family and friends in an amazing atmosphere.

If you do not like cold temperatures do not go during the winter months as the temperatures are way below freezing and snow is pretty much guaranteed. The summer can be extremely hot but a great time for taking river cruises and being in outdoor restaurants and bars and for general sightseeing.

I do recommend staying right in the centre of Prague. My favourite location would be the Old Town square, not so much Wenceles Square which is the newer part of town, although you do have to see Wenceles square and take a walk across the Charles Bridge and along to Prague castle.

I normally recommend a 4* hotel called the Grand Majestic Plaza which is very modern and very close to the Old Town square. If you want to be right in the Old Town square then the U Prince hotel is also a very good choice. Both hotels are a very high standard and have fantastic facilities.

Prague is the cheapest city I have visited in Europe and even though the flights and accommodation can be a little expensive sometimes, especially when booking last minute, it is very cheap once you are there and a pint of beer will be on average around £1.

Prague is also very popular for stag and hen groups but for couples and families you can easily avoid these kinds of bars as the city is quite big and the choices of eating and drinking out are huge. Public transport is very good in Prague and getting around by bus, metro or tram is very cheap and easy. Failing that, there are taxis but if you stay in the centre then you won't really need to use any of it apart from when you arrive and leave the country.

I arrange many trips to Prague so contact me for the best tips and up to date information on one of the best cities you will ever visit.
