Madrid & Toledo

Madrid is a city I can recommend to anyone of all ages. Whether it be a stag/hen part, a family break or a romantic weekend away.

We stayed very central in a four star hotel. The city has great transport links with a metro system that is very easy to navigate and English is widely spoken. The airport is only around 15 minutes’ from the city centre which can be reached by train or a private transfer which I can arrange and will be hassle free.

There is much to offer in the city with many attractions including the well-kept parks, lakes and buildings such as the royal palace. You can also spend a few hours rowing on the lake which is very reasonable. The city is very clean and safe. There are many local restaurants to choose from including tapas and all international cuisines.

There is a main area for the nightlife and trendy bars and the prices are very reasonable. I recommend the cable car tour however pre-booking is essential to avoid long queues which I can pre-arrange. I can arrange also the hop on hop off tour bus and this way you can see the city very fast and learn all the history on Madrid. You can also visit the Real Madrid football stadium on a tour if you wanted to see the amazing stadium.

If you are going for two/three nights I highly recommend a day trip to Toledo which is half hour by train from Madrid. It will cost by train approximately €10 each way. The city is stunning and very historical. The city is quite small, however I recommend the hop on hop off bus tour again as you can get amazing pictures around the city. If you fancy an adrenaline rush you can zip wire across the river for €10 per person.

If you pre-book early there are many low cost flights to and from Madrid and it can easily be experienced on a low budget.
