Then it will be all aboard at top speed as you take the Bullet train to Takayama, a small town nestled high in the Hida Alpine. The options are endless in the Japanese Alps so why not explore the village and cycle pass rice paddies before staying in a ryokan, a Japanese-style inn, that night.
