Tenerife

Tenerife is a lovely Island with plenty to do for everyone. We stayed in La Caletta a suburb of Playa De Las Americas which was lovely and as we had a car everywhere was completely accessible. We found loads to do for families - the water park, Park Las Aguilas (Jungle Park), Loro Park (Tropical Park & Zoo) to name a few. We also drove to Mount Teide and took the cable car to the top which was breathtaking, but not for the faint hearted!!

Tenerife is great for Scuba Diving and hill walking. My Husband went diving and really enjoyed it. There are also plenty of boat trips and we had the pleasure of spotting Whales on one of those trips.

We found an endless amount of shops to explore with great bargains from designer labels to perfumes. There are many lovely beaches with plenty of water based activities. There are loads of really nice restaurants too. A lot of the bars & restaurants provide Family entertainment which was great.

On one of our days out we visited the resort of Los Gigantes which we thought was really beautiful. Very picturesque. It was quite hilly though. Other resorts we visited were Los Cristianos, which is really nice. It's a bustling resort but far more low key than Las Americas which is truely for the night owl. There is also the option of staying in Las Americas without being too close to the nightlife. We found a very nice area with lovely restaurants and a designer outlet which was more upmarket and away from the hustle & bustle of all the nightlife.

I loved the fact that Los Cristianos, Las Americas, Costa Adeje and La Caletta are all withn a 20 minute drive from the airport.
