Lanzarote & Fuerteventura
We were only a few minutes drive from the Old Town with it's lovely restaurants and big shopping centre. Further on is the newer part and it's wide beach, which although has dark sand is very nice and was always kept very clean. There are loads of very nice restaurants along the strip.
Lanzarote has lots to do and as it's a volcanic Island, it has many places of interest quite different from other destinations. It looks a bit like landing on the moon.
We visited Cesar Manrique's cave house and museum, the Cactus Garden, The Cave of Los Verdos, Timanfaya National Park, Jameos Del Agua, Mirador Del Rio to name a few. All worth visiting. We also took the ferry from Playa Blanca to the neighbouring Island of Fuerteventura which had beautiful white sandy beaches. We were in the resort of Corralejo which had plenty of Restaurants and bars, and a water park. The Island of Fuerteventura is very popular with surfers as it can be quite windy. It has low key nightlife, geared towards Couples wanting to relax and unwind or Families.
This was my second trip to Lanzarote and I would recommend it for Families & Couples or Singles looking for nightlife, but not too hectic. All the hotels and apartments are low rise and modern.
