Winter Wonderland…. It was pure magic.
After the madness of Christmas it was great to get away. At the time our girls were 4 & 6. They were at a great age for it. We stayed in the 4* Holiday Inn Hotel, just off site. It was a very busy few days as we were as excited about being there as the kids were! The hotel was lovely, the room had a double bed and a set of bunk bed with a curtain to section it off and they had their own TV. The whole hotel had a circus theme to it. There was also an indoor pool if we fancied a break from the madness (the hotel supply free pool towels). The free shuttle bus ran every 5 -10 minutes back and forth to the park from the hotel.
The park itself was amazing. As we walked down Main Street, the castle was in sight. This had to be our first stop. Then it was on to 'it’s a small world', 'the old fashioned carousel', and then we lost track! There were only a couple of rides that had height restrictions so we were able to enjoy most. The most popular rides offer a fast pass service that is worth taking advantage of in the busy seasons. You need to keep an eye on the time if you want to squeeze in the shows. Honey I shrunk the audience is a 4D movie and we loved it - it was very good, but it was only one of many. There are also several parades during the day and night to enjoy.
In the studios we were able to take a train ride through all the special effects, the floods, fires and much more. There are stunt shows, parades and have literally thought of everything you can imagine. We were even able to see how they make the cartoons...a particular favourite for my children.
Onto the 'The Village' - this is where most of the restaurants are. There was everything from dining with the characters in Mickey's cafe, to the Rainforest cafe, old fashioned diner's to fast food outlets such as McDonalds and hotdog stands. There is something for everyone.
This is definitely fun for all the family no matter how young or old!
